you guys need to stop panicking. only 2 games, no blowouts. not at full strength, bla bla bla. shane did a good job on kobe in the first half. he was injured last 2 seasons. now he's finally healhty, might need some time, being over 30 and everything. team has a new roster again, it always takes time for things to go right. after what shane had done in his career, you have to give him a chance to prove himself. if he really is too old and injured then o well, but it's a risk we HAVE TO TAKE. with that back court, now you wanna give bud more minutes? might as well trade yao for maggette and get nellie as the coach.

i dunno about waiting till all star break. first 2 months are much easiear then they've been for awhile. if he's still struggling till january then he's a bench player

Not if we are also going to use Brooks and Martin as our starters. To me the major problems are we do not have a closer or go to scorer in the 4th and Lowry is not yet healthy. Brooks would have been yanked last night if Lowry was healthy.

I watched some of the game last night. Ellis was hitting fadeaways pulling the ball up from his hip. In a nutshell, he was absolutely on fire. There's really not a lot you can do if a guy is going to hit shots that difficult.

we are just too nice
if i'm the coach and the guy is scoring at will like that i would throw someone at him and give him some hard foul

Bud is good off the bench. Battier is not. Battier is a starter and an important one at that. There is nothing wrong with being deep.

Ellis scored 46,but the rest of Warriors scored 86. Even if Monta had been held to 25 points, the Warriors would have still scored 111.
If Battier was to be replaced,I wouldn't be surprised if it was by Lee,not Bud.
In the horrific event the Rocket D remains shockingly bad thru mid-Nov,I expect a Lowry,Martin,Lee starting unit. Unlikely, but possible.

The Rockets have been racking up the points,so adding a shooter/poor defender to starting line-up is a solution in search of a problem.

I think Batt should start but shouldn't play as many minutes.

Well, another alternative has come to my attention. Iggy want's out of Philly and has requested a trade. This would strengthen our sf position greatly and if the rumors about Dampier are true, we would be shoring up our most glaring weaknesses. :D

Yeah just what i said when we lost Ariza, we're going to be hurt on the defensive end, and it showed vs warriors. It was comical how we were burned so badly letting GS score 132. Scola with his matador defense and ball watching, Battier with less traction and lateral movement as he had before, he won no defensive matchup vs the young'ns, Hayes being constantly outrebounded. These guys may have been tired, but Ariza showed more toughness, athleticism and constantly was a great defender as an SF. We have no great defender at SF now, Budinger and Battier (who's good sometimes) are just average. Surely Courtney lee is just like ariza with better penetration, but a little above average SG defender. What we needed was an SF defender. And ariza was clearly better than what we have at SF.

With Yao playing, Battier is more effective because there's less players attacking the basket, so he can guard at perimeter.

I now believe that the only time Battier should start is when we play teams with great shooting guards like the Lakers where we need a good perimeter defender to go up against Kobe, or Heat(Wade), etc. Other than that, i think Bud should start.

I hope we do at least make an effort to get Iggy. It would sure up our defense for sure. I'll take him over Melo anyday. Now if it was CP3, that would be a dream!!

I wouldn't. Fact of the matter is we'd have to give up Martin and subsequently, floor spacing for him. Iguodala doesn't make his teammates better...can't shoot and is really only good in the open court. He doesn't fit the offense. Great defender no doubt but would you kill a top 5 offense for a mid-teens defense? No logic there. I'd rather be really good in one aspect than be average in two. Rockets would be better off the way they are instead of making a play for Iguodala. I am not saying he wouldn't come in and be the best player on the team...I am saying his presence in the offense would drop the level of play of pretty much everyone else.

Iggyemu,
Have to disagree on Iguodala. Even if it took Martin(and being honest,I don't particularly care for Martin's overall game),Iggy's D would see either Bud or Lee move into starting lineup. A Brooks,Iggy,Bud starting group offers much better playmaking, passing than the current trio.
If it was Battier-or Jeffries-Hill and Taylor, that still leaves Brooks and Martin on the floor w/Iggy. W/Iggy,Brooks,Martin,Brooks could play off the ball as the SG he really is,and Iggy would have little problem feeding the post. Not to mention he gets out and runs and finishes. Iggy,Brooks,Scola and one of Martin,Bud,Lee would give the Rocket starting unit 4 players who can get out and run.

1.shane battier 2.chuck hayes 3.rick adelman

shane battier is a very bad player hes in the ryan bowen class

against denver 2 points in 30 minutes
against golden state 6 points in 22 minutes
against the lakers 3 points in 31 minutes

this guy is a joke
fire morey please ,the sooner the better.....ryan Anderson is a 3 not a 4

It's hard to put up points when you have a usage% of 7.

Battier has missed some shots (mostly semi-open threes) and it's fine if you want to call him out for his defense, but critizising him for his offense or the lack of points he puts up is unfair.

I think it's fair to say he's lost a step, however I'd still start him, since he's a far better with with the first than the second unit. Budinger should play a little more minutes though.

Also, I too am not convicend about Iguodala being the guy you want to trade for.
He's a good defender and awesome in transition, but he doesn't really fit the system on offense, is overpaid and is no guy you can just go to either.
Unless you can get Melo, Granger or Chris Paul I'd stay content.
