GT Fri Oct 29th: Pacers @ Bobcats 7:00 pm

Post#1 » by moevil » Thu Oct 28, 2010 1:51 pm

Starting Lineups

Pacers
They are so unpredictable to decide starting lineup, I'll give a try
PG - Darren "Paul Junior" Collison
SG - Mike "Love to shoot" Dunleavy
SF - Danny "Torcher" Granger
PF - Josh "McWho?" McRoberts
C - Roy "3 picks too Early" Hibbert

Bobcats

PG - DJ "Confidence, Whe R duu?" Augustin
SG - Stephen "Ref, They ripped my headband" Jackson
SF - Gerald "Almost 48 minutes" Wallace
PF - Boris "Fat Frog" Diaw
C - Nazr "There's a rebound for you, Mr. Chandler" Mohhamed

Bench
PG - Shaun "Painkiller injection on wrong knee" Livingston
F - Tyrus "A post move, O'Riili?" Thomas
SG - Gerald "I pass into other Gerald's toes" Henderson
F - Derrick "Offense Whore" Brown
C - Desagana "Boogeyman" Diop

Key for win.
1) Attack Hibbert. He is force downlow, he would kill us on defense and offense unless we throw him into foul trouble.
2) Pacers like to shoot. Don't let them to shoot 3's and give open looks like we gave in Dallas
3) Jackson needs to take responsibility and make better decisions. Last time he killed ball movement
4) DJ needs to shoot. SHOOT and SHOOT. He needs confidence in regular season. He was decent in preseason
5) Give time to Livingston. He needs to settle down into rotation and chemistry. He is really long and his length gives good defensive force around perimeter
6) Thomas should concentrate on defense more. No blocks from TT? WHAAAAT?
7) Give more time for UPS

Prediction:
Bobcats top Pacers by 16 points

EDIT: Lol. Was looking one pre-season boxscore to determine starting lineup. Fixed

Lance stephenson is inactive and
I hope to god Posey isn't starting....

The lineup will be

Collison
Dunleavey
Granger
McRoberts
Hibbert

The Pacers hung really, really, well with the spurs, leading most of the 3rd and early fourth before jim o stupid decided to tinker with the lineups, should be a big game, watch out for hibbert he will likely destroy whoever is on him...

He lit up duncan to the tune of 28-9-3-3, However whoever dunleavey is guarding can likely light us up too...

Should be a good one!

This is a game we really need to win to get this team on track. And they are better than last year. Collison and Hibbert will be a great young nucleus to form with Granger. This is by no means an easy task facing the Cats. Crash and Jax will have to shoot much better, and DJ will have to play much better against Collison than he did vs Kidd - and I dont know if that is possible.

Considering he's being paid only $850k, McBob seems to be doing a reasonable job at the 4 spot for them.

I agree that DJ does need to shoot more. I know Larry Brown prefers his point guard to be more of a distributor but we really need to utilize DJ's shooting strength. I honestly think he's our best pure shooter on the team.

I'll be at the game so hoping for a good crowd and a good win!

Go back to what started our winning streak towards the end of pre season.Have Doris and Jax initiate our offense, with DJ playing off ball more. That seems to work so why not re use that strategy against the Pacers.

Key matchups:
Collison-DJ
Crash-Granger

Interesting matchups:
Hibbert-Nazr
Jax-Dunleavy
Doris-McRoberts

Pacers win 96-88

That's what they did last night against the Mavs. Dj would only bring the ball up past the half court and give up the ball to diaw or jax to run plays. It wasn't really effective, cuz we just end up puttin up bad shot or drive to the rim (pack with defenders).
I say we should let dj loose. He's quick with the dribble and can shoot. Let him develop his pg skills.

DJ can do what he wants. LB gives his point guards many opportunities to run plays and exploit the defense as the point sees fit. It's up to DJ to recognize what to do and recognize the situation of the game on each possession and then react QUICKLY. He also needs to become more assertive and demand the ball back so he can reset the offense and get the ball moving again. But DJ is timid and not a leader and it's why he will be gone once we find a suitable replacement who is more aggressive and fearless.

Seeing how great Devin Harris did last night (22 pts, 9 assists, 4 reb, 2 stls)... How I wish that Diaw for Harris trade would have gone through!

Effff you Denver and Melo!!!

but you must realize that he doesn't get 22 unless he's the number 1 or 2 option. Plus he's not a facilitator on offense, part of the assist number is due to the piss poor Pistons. As the number three option in a LB scheme he gets what, 15 or 17 points and instead is asked to get assists, not his strong point. You can't just cut and paste stats like that. I still don't consider him as an answer to our PG woes

For someone who praises himself as some sort of super fan who has a far superior knowledge of the game, this team and its needs than us mere mortals you really are clueless.

DJ can do what he wants.

Now THAT should be in the HoF.

Never claimed I was a super fan or claimed I had a superior knowledge of the game, however, I am claiming I know more than you. :P

Oh and in case you didn't get the memo, Matt Carroll sucks. Although I thought he played his role very well last night. People on here talking like he was going to be in the rotation and get meaningful minutes. :noway:

You need to concede Matt Carroll and DJ before we can move on.
