Fire Spoelstra

I was one of the first on the bandwagon last year, I figure I might as well hop back on this year. We need to fire Spoelstra. Feel free to disagree with my justifications:

1) The guy is TERRIBLE at calling plays after a time out and by terrible I mean one of the worst if not the worst in the league.

2) The guy is incredibly robotic in his substitution patterns calling substitutions at a predictable time.

3) Spoelstra didn't have any control over his team last year and will prove to not have any control this year.

And 4) his offensive play designs are mediocre at best.

Just look at the Philly and Boston games, you think Philly was able to come back and Boston was able to hold their lead simply because **** happens? No. We have superior talent to both teams, but we could not develop an offensive plan, nor a plan at the time out to beat Boston, nor keep our strong lead against Philly.

In both cases we were outcoached. As a result, I'm restarting the fire Spoelstra bandwagon. Let's bring in a guy who knows what he's doing.

Fire Doc Rivers, losing to the Cavs is unacceptable.

EDIT: Also fire Phil Jackson, barely beating the Rockets in the last seconds on opening night at home coming off a championship is unacceptable.

I'll be the first to admit that I'm not a fan of Spo but to call for his head right now is a bit premature. Give this team a month to mesh. If in a month we see the same stagnant offense, It may be time to look at options. This season is to big to have a coaching change. Spo tried a few looks last night, so I know has it in him. Last year he tired nothing, didn't create anything and wouldn't change a single thing. So I know your frustration but lets give him a month or so before we call for his head. Everyone is learning including our players.

Too early for me to be mad at the guy lol, but the fact is we have no offense. Our offense is "they'll figure it out, we need to focus on defense". Same as last year except you replace "they'll" with "Wade".

Hopefully we get to the point where we actually have an offensive system.

not a heat fan but if i was one, spoelstra seems to me (even though 2 games is of course an incredibly small sample size) as mike brown part II. solid defensive coach by all accounts, but absolutely terrible offensive flow.

now, a lot of that has to do with a lack of familiarity among the new players, but i see 2 main reasons for why theyre "struggling" as much as they are for lack of a better term. they lack a successful system such as jerry sloan's pnr, or rick adelman's princeton-like offense. if he was a better coach in terms of making adjustments, the heat are better off with starting a perimeter trio of wade lbj and james jones (mike miller when he comes back) because arroyo is just terrible on both ends of the court. they need shooting to complement 2 players that are used to dominating the ball. without a consistent post presence or shooting, the heat will not be maximizing their players' strengths.

personally, i never thought bosh and lbj were a good fit with wade even though they are all spectacular one on one players. but you only have one ball, and to make that work there needs to be a system in place, as well as the proper players complementing each other.

Well those guys are on different levels... I do agree with your thoughts though.

I don't think this Spo firing thread is about losing to the Celtics. The Celtics loss to the Cavs but you don't see threads calling for Doc Rivers firing because in spite of the loss the Celtics stick to their game plan and system.

If we see this Spo thread, its because the way we saw how the Heat played lately. Too much one on one. Lots of the players role are not defined. One or two of the big 3 will not get their average last year because they're not all the #1 option of this team unlike last season. One of the big 3 should make sacrifices.

When Riley was coaching, a lot of fans complain and bored of his style. Riles style is executing on offense by running plays. Now this current team is exciting and still fans complain how the offense run. I guess there's no way fans will be satisfied.

I don't like how the offense goes and there's a lot of turn overs. But i'm giving Spo the benefit of the doubt coz I think he's still adjusting and finding ways which type of game or system will fit this team.

I think Pat Riley will do better as coach but I'm still not giving up on Spo coz I know he's a good coach too and he'll find the way soon that will make this team play well and improve their chemistry.

Let's be patient coz its still early in the season to judge Spo. Let wait and see what will happen next.

I would be the first to admit that I have never been impressed with Spo offensively over his tenure, and frankly I'm more scared than I was last season. I dont know about you guys but when I hear a coach say that he's scaled his offense playbook down so these professionals would not be overwhelmed I shake my head. That is just unacceptable from a head coach. Spo is obviously a good defensive coach, and Wade likes him, but to say he would improve on offense to me is far fetched. What I hope Riley does is hire him an offensive coach, much like Boston had Thibs as a defensive coordinator, now I think they got Lawrence Frank. There's no shame in not knowing the other side of the ball. Obviously we would get by just because of the talent we have on our team. But against certain teams we are going to have to run plays to get some easy baskets or it's gonna be isolation play after isolation play.

What the hell are you talking about? I watched as many games as I could last year, which is no easy feat considering where I live and that I couldn't afford a TV, let alone league pass, back then. What a joke. Your post was everything I said it was, and your petty, off-base shot at my credentials as a fan is even worse.
