Skip thinks Hickson will be an allstar one day

Post#1 » by GoLakers2011 » Fri Oct 29, 2010 1:46 pm

Skip said it on ESPN First Take yesterday. He thinks Hickson will be an allstar down the road sometime and he also picked the Cavs to make the postseason which I do agree with.

He looks like he's really improved his offensive game. Personally I thought he was just a product of LeBron. That does not look to be the case early here in the season.

Now clearly Skip isn't the most level headed guy in the world. He has said idiot things recently like Pippen isnt a top 50 player of alltime, he picked the Dallas Cowboys who are currently the worst team in football to win the superbowl, he said LeBron is not a #1 option, etc.

Anyways do you think JJ can become an allstar in the future?

Yeh I agree of course and on LeBron being first option, who takes "the shot" in the playoffs? Wade or LeBron???

i guess Hickson can be an all star eventually but PF is the strongest position in the NBA so it'll be a tough thing for him to do. I agree that as good as LeBron is, his game is not really suited to be a first option. He's just so talented that he can do it anyway. I also don't think Pippen is a top 50 all time (the exclusion of McAdoo was a crime).

Hickson definately has a shot at some point. I'm not convinced he'll be a perenial all-star but he can squeek in. I don't think the talent is so deep in the East that he wouldn't have a shot this year if game 1 becomes his norm....certainly that remains to be seen though.

yeah way too many damn Power Forwards in the NBA. If he was a Center, it'd happen a lot sooner.

Hickson has been improving by leaps and bounds. A year ago he was pretty horrendous on both ends of the court. But near the end of the season you could see him picking things up and rounding out his game. I think he will benefit from having both a defensive coach and now an offensive coach at such a young and developing time in his career.

If Mo Williams can be an All-Star, I would think Hickson has the potential as well.
Well at least we're not Detroit!

I agree. Lebron doesn't have the mentality of a 1st option player, but his talent forces him to be one.

As for Hickson I don't think he will be an All-Star, but he will be a solid 15-18ppg/7-8rpg type player for his career I think. Maybe if the Cavs compete for a higher seed down the line he will get some consideration.

PFs in east that are easily better than Hickson.

Amare (voted center on all star though)
Bosh
Garnett (however due to downfall will not be long term threat)
Josh Smith
Boozer

n that's today, while you have PFs on the rise the same way Hickson is. Bearing any trades, cause west is even worse. So it'd be really tough for him to be considered, just because that position is so deep, and not because he won't be a great player.
