Miles and Haywood for Mathews!!

Post#1 » by Montanajazz » Fri Oct 29, 2010 4:31 pm

I think Deron Williams misses Mathews more then anyone else. Trade Haywood and over hyped miles to portland for Mathews and bring back Thompson>

I love Hayward. He's the only good player on our team right now. He's better at this stage in his career than Matthews was.

He means Hayward, and hell no. Hayward is gonna be a player. 7.5ppg 5.5rpg .5spg 1.5bpg and just 1.5tov. His shot wasn't falling so much the first game, but the second he shot .500. He already is averaging 23 minutes, and not just garbage minutes, he has played in every quarter if I'm not mistaken. Everybody has doubted him, but kid is playing great defense for a rookie, making few to no mistakes, getting boards, etc.

Miles averaged 14.4ppg in the playoffs, don't allow the first two games to make you jump the gun just yet.

We aren't talking about one guy with the potential to be as good or better than Mathews, but two. If we just go by the first two games of the season, Hayward is playing a little better, and in less minutes.

Hayward no, but I would trade Miles for Matthews in a second. I would even throw in a future first. I'm pretty much done getting my hopes up for CJ... I know it's only been two games but I just can't take his horrid play anymore. The kid drives me nuts!

Thanks for Spelling correction. I started the post to voice my frustration with Miles. We could only get Mathews if we traded both to Portland. I know Hayward is gonna be very good. Just frustrated by same ol!!!! Jazz will get it going. In fact, start Hayward at Guard. Bring Bell off the bench with Miles!

I've always thought people were too high on Miles, but I was actually getting pretty optimistic about him after a fairly strong playoff run. I hope he gets his head together, because it's terribly frustrating seeing him play like hapless garbage.

Hayward has been the silver lining to these first two games. He's going to be a tremendous role player in his career, I feel.

I'd, of course, do Miles for Matthews straight-up, but that'll never happen, so time to move on...

I confuse Hayward and Haywood quite a bit myself.

I miss having Matthews on the team. He was my fav last season. F-ing Blazers.
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

I miss matthews bc the guy does everything he can to win a game but Hayward has much more upside, and I know you guys are down on Miles right now but he is a talented quality player equal in value to matthews. Giving up the farm plus over-paying for a guy contract-wise makes no sense whatsoever.

Hayward is going to take some time, but from what I've seen in the past two games has made me much more optimistic. He has a poise for the game that is rarely found in a rook. I'm pretty sure Sloan has seen it, being the reason for his PT. I hated the pick on face value, but I'm starting to understand the reasoning behind it. Once Hayward finds his role, he will contribute ala Wes last year although he is going to be a liability until then.

CJ is kind of in limbo as well... actually the entire team is. It's going to take some time guys, but we do have the chess pieces. I like what we have on paper.

How come? He hasn't been so far.

I agree, Hayward has been athletic and even when he messes up his hustle usually makes up for it. He does need to get the offense down a little better so it becomes habit instead of thinking too much about it while he is on the court.

Well, our entire team has been a liability so let's just wait and see how he performs once we get our sh*t together. I'm speaking in the hypothetical.

Ah, I see. Yeah, we certainly don't know how things will shake out with him this season. But I'm very optimistic so far.

Even though I think there will be learning pains, I'm thinking he has the brains to find his niche in the offense. Defensively he is already better than CJ... but then again so is my dog.
