options picked up for Twill and Brook

Post#1 » by kamaze » Tue Oct 19, 2010 5:18 pm

One day after we learned Terrence Williams would be the Nets’ sixth man this season, the team picked up his option for next season.

This was a no-brainer. Williams will be a regular-rotation guy and given his chance can fill up the stat sheet as we saw late last season when he had a triple-double off the bench.

Another mere formality was picking up Brook Lopez’s option for next season, too, which the Nets also did today. Both had to be done by the end of the month.

No big surprises here. Im just curious to see what type of contract their going to offer both these guys when the time comes. Is Lopez a max contract guy? I say hes close enough, and if the Nets dont offer him one then someone else will for sure. Unlike K-Mart, Lopez will be great no mater where he plays in comparison to Kenyon needing Kidd to show his full talents.

Should probably reword it to "options picked up" kind of misleading the way it currently is...

Lopez is 100% a max player if the fact that C's get paid more in the mix and it's a no brainer. Just hope he wants to stay which I think he will.
Our next Max as of now isn't until Favors is up.

If Lopez were to leave the Nets I would rage so hard.
