I'm with Grizzled on this one. Our perimeter defense was awful against the Hawks. It cannot be against the Mavs because of Dirk. He will light us up if we continue to be lackadaisical on that end of the floor.

I'm on the same page. If the Grizz don't up the ante on the defensive end against the Mavs perimeter offense. They will be screwed six ways to Sunday.

Is Randolph slated to play? I'd probably rather play without him (especially against Dirk/the Mavs) than have him at less than 100%. I think we match up better with Arthur/Rudy guarding Dirk than we do with Zach checking him.
Then again we'll have Thabeet at C... :-? If he's stuck guarding guys out on the perimeter then he'll probably look just as bad as he did against the Hawks.
I really hope he proves me wrong, but damn sometimes it looks like he's not even trying. He needs to be way more aggressive on rebounds and not be afraid of the ball.

Thabeet is the definition of a system player. He is only effective if the defensive scheme is centered around his length. This means you need to have a huge rebounder next to him to compensate for his gambles. He looks as if he is not trying because he gambles and focuses on paint defense exclusively. That's why we saw guys step up and make open jumpers against him.

I was all impressed with Gay when he kept attacking the basket at will in the 1st quarter after doing the same thing against Atlanta thinking he has a legit shot to make the next step. Now he comes back and just starts chucking contested jumpers, sigh.

I think Darrell Arthur's gonna be real good this year, might even lead the bench in scoring with double figures

Arthur was playing Dirk very well towards the end

this team is so much better with Marc.....one of the most underrated players in the game

Didn't see that win coming. Glad Marc came back. He made his presence known on the floor tonight.

I totally missed the ending of this one. But yeah, what a crazy finish!

I have to say that I think Marc may be our most valuable player. Or Rudy. I just feel like Marc's presence opens up Rudy's game from the field. Gasol gives us so many second chance points. But, what an awesome game! I'm so excited for this season!

:D Made my night.

The young Grizz showed alot of poise down the stretch to win this one. IMO, this is a game we would have definitely lost in the waning seconds last year.

I would say Marc is the team's most important player.
