Solving the PF Problem? (Trade Idea)

Post#1 » by OptimisticCav » Fri Oct 29, 2010 2:30 am

Cavs have been looking to shop 3pt shooting PF Antawn Jamison. He's not fitting into the new-look Cavs and needs a better distributor to excel (which was Lebron). A Frye/Jamison backcourt has to be the best 3pt shooting frontcourt in the NBA. So....

J-Rich and a 1st rounder for Jamison?

The Cavs do it for money purposes and buy out J-Rich's contract, and he can return to the Suns in 30 days. Maybe he can practice his jumpshot during the time off. (Hehe, cheapshot. :P)

Cavs get: Salary dump, 1st rd pick.
Cavs lose: Antwawn Jamison

Suns get: Antawn Jamison
Suns lose: 1st rd pick.

I have thought about this before, but i didnt like the outcome. We will be looking to rebuild, and an old Jamison for the next couple of years doesnt look to good to me. As of right now, Jrich is our #1 option, our go to guy. Jamison provides less for us then what Jrich does. On top of it, you want our draft pick which is laughable. Jamison doesnt work for your team, so you guys would be providing more (as we are doing you the favor of taking on his horrible contract for the next 2 years). But the answer would still be No.

J-Rich would be returning in 30 days, and I don't think of the Suns as a rebuilding team. Nash/J-Rich/Hedo/Jamison/Frye line-up does not sound like a rebuilding team in my opinion. The floor would be so spread with that line-up, with 5 capable 3pt shooters. And Jamison can actually set a decent pick. xD

If Phoenix plans on trying to compete this year, their draft pick won't be amazing, and won't be a capable 18/8 guy.. And you're losing JR's contract and adding Antawn's for this year, so no change this year. Only difference will be that you'll have a expiring contract next year, when you're 100% of the direction you're heading.

Re-signing Jrich will be expensive. He is not taking a Vets minimum, and made remarks about 1 last big contract. Still, Suns dont like this trade. Thats why im the only board-member answering. Others wont even waste their time with this non-sense. I am the Board Guardian!

Lmao he'll take the vets min for the rest of the year, if he's bought out of the other contract.

And I refuse to leave without the acknowledgement that this is a good idea by the Guardian of these Boards! :o

No in a heart beat. Why will we want an aging Jamison? Jason Thompson or bust.

Its a horrible idea. My minions have spoken. Now leave this board before you are reported for trolling. Thinking this is a good trade is impossible, there for you must be a troll. Obvious.

Turrible, turrible, turrible idea. Jamison is listed as a PF but he's really just a big SF and yeah, we already have an aging one of those. He doesn't fill our need for an inside presence.

i like the idea of getting Jamison.
but why trade JRich? I say let's trade Hedo, Earl, and first rounder for Jamison and a second rounder.

or try to get Varajou? that would help big on the boards

Im ok with Jamison, he is a fine rebounder and would fit our system well. Giving a draft pick with JRich is absurd. And I cant remember the last person to get bought out making over 10 million dollars without being absolutely desperate. Thats a big buyout.

Lol ! Not a troll. xD

And J-Rich goes back to you guys in 30 days.

It happened last year, with Big Z , who had a 11mil contract. We gave Washington him and a first rounder for Jamison, then they gave Z back. Washington saves some money and got a pick.

J-Rich will be a big part of what the Suns do this season, but if they could eat out the month without him, they would have have a much better team next time around.

Maybe the Cavs did it because they knew Z would stay on the team, as long as we had a chance at winning. I guess you wouldn't exactly be sure if J-Rich would stay. =/

Jamison would fit but he isn't what we need.

Huh? I don't get it.

JRich's jumpshot has been fantastic since last January. Didn't you see his "jumpshot" in the Suns playoff run? It was crazy good.

Beyond that, a horrible trade idea for the Suns
