Opening home game. Off a back to back. Lets get a W at home to kick off the season.

Go Hawks!

Back to back and we're favored by 10 points. Over/Under 195

I know it's early, but we can gain some ground on Orlando.

Anyone know if there are any opening night festivities that will make worthwhile to get to the arena extra early?

It's amazing how much more athletic Joe looks at the start of the season as opposed to April and May.

When will someone call Josh out on this garbage? I cant take it. Why is it so much to ask for him to pass it to a PG from time to time?

Josh really drives me crazy sometimes, Why can't he understand the team's offensive system? Is he THAT stupid? J after J after J. If he played in the paint he could get 20-10 just as Al did. what a moron.

Ok, 3-0, good W considering it was a back-to-back. GO HAWKS!

I actually thought Smith played well outside of 2 bad turnovers in the 1st half. He only shot 3 jumpers(3 misses) out of 8 field goal attempts which is right where he should be.

I feel like 3 is to much. I guess 2 is fine but 3 is unnecessary. Offense went iso Joe at the end, again. Team has flaws still.
McGee has a nice defensive impact but is atrocious offensively. Not sure how Thornton has career games every time he sees us, bc he isnt very good. If/When Wall gets a consistent jumper, its over. Hes incredibly fast and talented.

So we're 3-0, offense looks a bit crisper and the team is relatively happy, now we have to sharpen up on some things cause our opponents are not exactly murder's row. The 1st 7 games of the season the Hawks are the better team on paper. Then we play Orlando.

But regardless pretty happy with the chemistry and veteran like confidence this team has now, they've been through the wire a couple of times and you just have the feeling they are going to walk away with wins when it comes down to it at the end of ball games. Cleveland will be another tight one tuesday. 3-0 on the road to start the season would be WOW!!! :o no matter the opponent.

Finally home after seeing the game live. Unimpressive crowd, but they did come to life with about 3-4 minutes left to help bring it home with energy. Felt we stray from the base offense too quickly and there are stretches when they just don't move off the ball. Not good, but its early. IMO, John Wall is already getting star calls from the refs. If Al Thornton played against the rest of the league like he plays the Hawks he'd have his own statue. It was the first game that Joe had to play huge minutes this season primarily I think that came from Marvin having a horrible outing. Got to love that we are 3-0 without truly playing a complete game.

The lob from Josh to Al for the 1 handed slam in the 4th deserves to be the play of the day.

Also, how many open 3s has Marvin got this year? He needs to start nailing those or pass them up.

Not to mention him stumblin and bumblin on the court, the play where Bibby basically holds him up and he trips and falls going thru the lane against Thornton i believe. I actually caught myself  when i watched it. Marvin unfortunately has a duck butt and it has severely hampered his NBA career from All-Star status to sometimes also ran complementary player. :dontknow:

John Wall is already getting star calls from the refs.

I thought the game was officiated pretty evenly and Wall is definitely an amazing talent....but that foul on Zaza to end the 3rd quarter was a little ridiculous. No on on the Hawks would have gotten that call.

^^^ I'll be the first to admit he was getting where he wanted on the floor and most were legit fouls, but a couple of times he seemed to be out of control and bailed out with a touch contact including the one you mentioned.

Earlier in the game (I don't think it involved Wall), I made an observation that the refs seemed to be calling a lot of anticipated contact this year instead of waiting for a foul to actual occur. At least it seems that way to me 3 games into the season.

aka the time where he lost control and ran into Bibby and it was a foul on Bibby.

Nique needs to think before he speaks. He called Wall "Walls" about 50 times last night.

No love from NBA.com on the Horford dunk, but they did have the Jamal reverse in the top ten as well as a Dominique gem from his debut 28 years ago last night.

The Hawks finish October as the only undefeated team in the Eastern Conference. Doesn't mean anything in the grand scheme of things, but it's still cool.
