Mike Conley

Contract season for him, he has a qualifying option. He seems to have increased considerably his shots per game, with a rather low efficiency. What do you think about him? Will he step up this season and bring what he was expected to?

The pattern with Conley has always been to start out painfully slow at the beginning of the season, and finish strong at the end of the year so we all have hope for the next season.

He's always been an erratic player. If he's playing poorly, he loses all of his confidence and tends to not do anything on the court but dribble around. If he's playing well, he uses his exceptional quickness to get to the basket at will and makes plays for everyone else.

A lot of fans have gotten exceedingly tired of his hot-cold spells, and have wanted the Grizzlies to trade him for the past couple of years.

However, this year he looks like a new player. He is playing with utmost confidence and as a result of this he's becoming a stat monster and making everyone around him better. Last night he was close to a quadruple-double. This is the player that everyone expected to see when he was drafted. It took a lot longer than expected, but if he can keep this confidence level for an entire season, the sky's the limit.

It's only the preseason and the first three games of the year; but Conley has been noticeably better so far this year - both in his production and how he plays the game on a possession-by-possession basis. I haven't noticed him pounding the ball into the floor for 15+ seconds, dribbling from the left side of the court to the right side, and leaving a horrible shot at the shot clock buzzer for OJ or Rudy this year.

Before the season opener tipped off, I joked with a couple of my friends that the Grizz needed to leave a calendar in Conley's locker that had "April" on every page for every month, because then Conley would actually show up for the games. I don't know if the Grizz have done this, but it seems like Conley has played every game so far like it's April.

Agree Jefe. Conley has been paying like if it were april. Indeed he needs to! he has been lucky that during all these years no other PG can hit the starting lineup of the grizzs.

I think it is his year, i bet on him in most of my fantasy teams.

I'd rather Conley continue to play great and make it a tough decision at the end of the season than him play like garbage and make it easy on the front office.

This just about sums everything.
