The 0-2 start is not what I was expecting this year. I was hoping to either find a way to beat the Blazers in the home opener or beat the Warriors. We have a rough schedule to begin the season, but a slow or fast start doesn't really guarantee much for us. (I take that back a slow starts have ended our season early)

The Mavs are coming off a 1 point loss to the Grizzlies. They have a stacked roster and I'm sure they will be motivated to get on track and try to beat us.

I would hope this loss to the Warriors would motivate us to play much better, I basically saw no defense in the third quarter. So will we be given a Halloween Trick or Treat on Sunday? Watch the Clippers VS Mavericks to find out.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN

Foye's out I believe, so expect Bledsoe to get the backup minutes. Also should mark Rhino's debut.

Anyone else think clearing cap space last year was a waste? I'd rather have Camby, Randolph, and Telfair right now. Foye and Gomes weren't even wanted by their own teams.

Our GM has done a crappy job signing free agents. I have no confidence in him in making trades.

i don't think it's all that bad, considering that foye and gomes were essentially plan b and signed as trade fodder for the future. most teams started planning for 2010 several seasons ago when the market looked to be stronger than it actually ended up being. unfortunately, a lot events transpired that ended up weakening the talent pool significantly (t-mac's injury, ginobilli's extension, johnson and gay re-signs, lebron and friends taking significant paycuts... list goes on). i think they took a legitimate shot and came out empty handed. the results are very disappointing but that's just the power of hindsight. i felt the same way about the kobe sweepstakes too.

Foye and Gomes should have been plan D. I'd rather have Steve Blake and Travis Outlaw. Wouldn't you? They got about the same $ and years.

Plan C should have been to trade for legit players from teams that want to cut salary. How did the Hornets get Ariza and the Twolves get Beasely?

The players we got in the offseason were players you get when you only have the mid level exception. We had $16+ M in cap space and we have holes everywhere.

God no to signing Travis Outlaw. He is getting 7mil per year and for more years than our two players and shooting 38%. Would have been nice to retain Blake though.

They are relatively cheap stop gap or filler players. They fit a role in the team. Say we trade Baron or somehow trade for Melo those two of players can still fill a role for the team.

I got free tickets to the game from the promo, and it's my birthday today! All I'm hoping for is our first win! Blake has a good challenge up today against Dirk. Go Clips!

I'm also going to this afternoon's game. I'm going to miss posting here while the game is going on. I hope that we play better, mainly stay focused on defense, and find a way to win the game. I hope that someone can guard Dirk because Blake had a hard time with David Lee.

David Lee was proud of the job that he and Biedrins did on Griff and Kaman. Lee is pretty quick but not known as a defender. I hope that wakes them up.

It's going to be very interesting to see how Griff plays against Dirk. They're different players. Griff's athleticism should be trouble for Dirk, but Griff will have to pay attention to his fouls trying to stop Dirk's fadeaways.

Gomes, Kaman, and Baron better wake the he!! up. Summer is over. Professionals make open shots.

Outlaw got 4 years and $28 mil, while Blake got 4 years and $16 mil.
That's certainly not the same amount of years and $ Gomes(3 yers, $12 mil) and Foye(2 years, $8.5 mil) got.

The Hornets got Ariza because the Rockets didn't need him anymore and he's not worth the contract they signed him to last offseason.
And that Beasley deal was Miami being desperate to clear cap space, while Minny was willing to give up a 2nd round pick. Beasley's also a tweener forward that wouldn't solve our problems at the 3 spot.
Though, i'd rather have him at that price then signing Gomes outright.

There weren't all that great options out there, as soon as Lebron and those other big name guys were gone.
Still, it might have been a better idea to just re-sign Butler, get some cheaper guys and try to see if any team would be interested to trade one of their small forwards(Philly? Detroit?) for change.
Though, deals like those could still be made once December 15th arrives, as both Foye and Gomes are very tradeable and with us still being about $5 - $6 mil under the cap.

BTW: Thanks to this one being an early game and with the clock already being changed to winter time over here in Germany I'll be able to catch this one live. :D

I almost forgot there was a game today, with all the football that's going on. It's time to get that first win!

Lets hope Kaman can get it together soon cause he's one of the big reasons why we haven't been in the games. His shot has been horrible in both games, and his defense has been questionable.

Our most athletic group is on the court: DJ, Blake, Aminu, EJ, and Bledsoe. Very interesting lineup this early in the game.

Ralph said every player on the court now is 22 or younger...Deandre Jordan being the oldster. Holy cow.

Should expect a ton of run n gun right now. This unit would have been perfect to use against the Warriors imo

Aminu for 3! And now we're only down by 2.

I hope to see Rhino get some playing time once Blake takes a seat. Our starters are pretty damn bad right now.
