I don't get how people continually diss DJ for not creating when Larry Brown has said time and again the offense runs through Jack and Diaw. What do you want him to do? Tell LB to stfu? He's doing fantastic in his role in the offense. Maybe LB will realize that and give him the ball more. Theres no reason he couldn't average 20/8 if LB gave him the team.
Another reason DJ doesn't get many assists is we have nobody that can catch and shoot besides him. Nobody like Delfino or Terry or Ray Allen who can come off a curl and get you 4 or 5 catch and shoot assists per game. Its not that he can't pass.

I had some questions though.
1. Was Geranld Wallace sick or injured? He wasn't going nearly as hard as I'm used to seeing him.
2. What did DJ Augustine do to Brother Dave? He was your only player that stood out as positive last night.
3. Is Livingston going to contribute? It's good to see him back and playing.
Also
Is Tyrus Thomas the dumbest player in the NBA? He missed two or three dunks, and had three or four bone headed turnovers. He was like that with the Bulls and I'm curious if he's improved at all.
1. He's usually playing like trash at the beginning of the season
2. Not sure
3. We hope so, but if LB continues to use him as an off guard/small forward, I don't know...
4. Yes, he's still the dumbest player in the NBA
5. No, he didn't improve and most likely won't improve in the future. He is what he is.

Aye, there's the rub. In LB's offense DJ brings that ball up. That's fine. Then he's supposed to get it to Jax and Diaw to run the offense. The problem is he overdribbles and takes too much time getting Diaw and Jax the ball and so the offense doesn't get going until there's already 10-14 seconds wasted off the shot clock. That's why LB has preferred another ballhandler in the backcourt with DJ as a safety valve but he doesn't have that this year except maybe Livingston.

Yes, he positively allowed Brandon Jennings to get a triple double last night.

I'm honestly not trying to be an arse here, but you do see what sort of offense LB is running here................right?
It's the same sort of offense that the Nets run with Devin Harris.
Ah, but the Nets have a competent ballhander in TWill to play off of Harris, Bobcats don't. We are simply weakest at the two most important positions in basketball, I don't care what kind of offense you run, you're not going to be very good b/c of this.

Wait, so when guys don't run the plays they're supposed to and just sit on the wings its DJ's fault too? If he brings the ball up and guys aren't where they need to be, who's that on? Don't give me that 'DJ is supposed to create' answer either - driving the lane one on three and pulling something out of his butt isn't the solution. I'm not sure you understand whats going on... Jax and Crash are the ones playing like crap right now. Neither are playing good defense and both are turning into certified ball stoppers who look like they've been sipping their own koolaid all summer long.
And Jennings getting a triple double means 2 things - guys don't box out and guys aren't rotating on defense. You make it sound like Jennings was driving by DJ at will. Not the case.

That literally makes no sense. How could it possibly be DJ'S fault if he got 10 boards and 10 assists.
Look, LB sets the roles and comes up with the gameplan. In his role, DJ excelled just as much as Jennings last night. We won't know what he can really do until LB gives him a bigger role.

It's pretty hard to get triple doubles when your man is making you work hard on offense.
That being said, Jennings is a stud and probably would have gotten it sooner or later anyway.

Its easy to get 20 points for Jennings any night, its easy to get 10 assists when Delfino and Salmons are hitting every catch and shoot they get. 10 rebounds for most pgs outside of Kidd is flukey and nothing to do with the defender.

I wasn't aware that the reading comprehension on this board was so low. Mea culpa.
See, if DJ (that's our pg) was playing some defense on Jennings (he's their pg), instead of letting Jennings do as he pleases, Jennings would have less energy to expend hustling for rebounds.
It's not that hard guys, it's called competitive team sports. I'm seriously not trying to be smartass here, I'm not immediately dismissive what you guys post so show a brother some turnabout.

Valid points.
See, I can be reasonable.

So.... what you're saying, its DJ's fault that Boris Diaw and Nazr Mohammed don't box out and that Gerald Wallace has been leaving shooters open for the last two games because he doesn't feel like closing out anymore.
Okay, as long as we're clear.
Again, Jennings was NOT living in the lane the other night.

^^For good measure, Rondo dropped a classic triple double on Felton the other night and by your logic Felton "allowed" that to happen, contradictory to the "Felton is the better defender" belief.
Andre Miller also dropped a line of 19,10,4,3 shooting 6-8 from the field, on Felton.I'm not trying to compare Felts-DJ here, just exposing your flawed logic in that ,the reason Jennings got a triple double on us is not necessairly DJ's fault. His teammates were making shots....it happens, some nights they don't fall.

I don't think this is directed at me but I don't want anyone thinking I'm a Felton sympathizer. He has some of the worst lateral quickness for a guy his speed that I've ever seen. Felton's a bigger defender but not necessarily better.
And yeah, Delfino was en fuego that night.
