Bautista wins AL Hank Aaron Award

First Blue Jay to win the award, acknowledging each league's top offensive performer, since Delgado in 2000. Joey Votto wins it for the NL.

Bautista outplays his contract by more than $70 million over the next four seasons (2013-2016).

Well deserved. He put together an outstanding season.

If he's the league's top offensive performer based on the opinion of fans and some of the league's top offensive performers from the past (guys who should know something about what a top performer is), and you consider the fact that he was among the league leaders in outfield assists and played good defense pretty much all year, he must be a shoe-in for MVP, right? ... Now, lets watch him finish 7th in the voting.

Yea... this makes the MVP voting really obscure.

The only guy that I thought had arguably a better offensive year was Cabrera. I don't think he offers more than Bautista in defense or in the clubhouse, so this implies to me that it's either Bautista or Hamilton, and considering Texas made the playoffs it looks like Hamilton gets it.
