Ummm it actually is legit. The only thing Reggie Evans does good is rebound, and it's a contract year, so of course he's going to want to pump up the stat category that he can do his only damage in, and playing next to Bargnani, he gets to maximize that.

It's not a valid argument because there is no argument. Bargnani sucks at rebounding, everyone knows it. His homers know it, his haters know it. Whether or not someone's stealing his rebounds, it doesn't change the fact that he's immediately at the bottom of the league for rebounding from a big.

Reggie grabbing a board going directly to Bargs (this happened twice), just means that he's a guy who goes and gets it, while Bargs waits for it to fall into his lap.

As long as Bargs can start challenging every shot in the paint, then it'll work out fine, b/c Reggie will go and get the loose balls. Although, this scenario probably wouldn't work against better players.

Umm I wasn't defending Bargnani's lack of rebounding, but saying that the long tired "people steal his rebounds" argument is ironically legit.

It's not legit at all. He's averaging just over 3 rebounds a game. Are you suggesting Evans is stealing 6-7 per game off Bargnani?

Like I already said I wasn't defending Bargnani's lack of rebounding, but pointing out the comedy in how Evans is literally stealing rebounds from his frontcourt mate and teammates alike. When did I say Bargnani would be averaging 10rpg without Reggie Evans? I didn't, he would suck as a rebounder with or without Reggie so shut up.

Problem:

Marcus Camby does this, too... and yet, somehow, Drew Gooden and Chris Kaman did just fine alongside him. Because they don't suck on the glass. I get what you're saying, it's actually happening to Bargs and that isn't the greatest thing for a player who already blows donkey wang at rebounding, but it's almost like why bother bringing it up, right? If it happens once or twice a game, oh well. Lebron and Bosh do it to one another in Miami, Shaq used to do it to Ho Grant sometimes in Orlando and L.A... really, any volume rebounder is gonna do it. Dwight does it once in a while as well, hell, Karl Malone, Olajuwon, Robinson and Duncan did it to each other, etc, etc.

It's a zero-sum event over a season if the player that has it happening to him actually moves to the ball regularly.

I brought it up because "Bargnani apologists" are always using the "his teammates steal his rebounds" argument, and then it's ironic because now it really is happening.

[edit] Though I probably should clarify it's not affecting his rebounding ability in any way whatsoever. He only had one against Cleveland, he should have had a couple more that game, so his season average would still have been around 5-6rpg, which still sucks.

I don't think anyone is suggesting that Bargnani doesn't absolutely suck as a rebounder. But it's more that it's funny, because for years it's been suggested that Bosh or whoever else stole Bargnani's rebounds, which was of course bull. Especially since the Raptors were an awful rebounding team.

Well for once, there is actually a guy who is actually grabbing every single rebound on the floor with Bargnani, and the team has been through two games much better rebounding wise. It's just kind of amusing.

Definitely going with Blatche on this one.

Fair enough, I have just been in way too many "BOSH IS STEALING BARGS'S REBOUNDS" arguments over the years here. I like Evans, I would trade Gooden for him. There's not much I wouldn't trade Gooden for though.

Lol. Bargnani is the worst rebounding 7 footer of all time. Evans doesn't have to steal rebounds, Bargnani will sign the rights over to the rebounds willingly.

Before Bargnani could sign that will, Evans stole that too. He grabbed his balls on the way out.

Bargnani or Blatche?

I think I would take Blatche strictly based off the fact he makes less money. Their respective impact to their team is a wash.

to be fair, he is coming off a broken foot that sidelined him for 2 and a half months. He's bigger, out of shape, & rusty while also not being able to work on his game at all. I felt that he starting to find his rythm in the 2nd half of last game so I want to see what he does in the next one

Ya but he keeps putting up stupid long jumpers that miss completely. I see none of the skills, poise and maturity on the court that I saw after the trades last season. I thought he really grew but now he seems to be in a different mindset again.

Hopefully it'll pass because he has a legit skill-set.

If there's one thing that will always remain constant in this comparison in the coming years, it's that Blatche has by far the better contract. Blatche might want to fire his agent and hire a new one when his contract expires.

What does Barnani do besides shoot 3's? His game is soft as cotton. Was he even out there last night? Blatche on his one good leg is better than Bargnani.
