Grizzlies @ Lakers

Who: Memphis Grizzlies(0-1) @ Los Angeles Lakers(3-0)
When: Tuesday, November 2nd
Where: STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, CA
Time: 9:30 PM CST
TV/Radio: SpSo / WRBO 103.5FM
Overall Series:
Season Series: 0-0
Trivia Facts: Lakers SF Matt Barnes was drafted by the Grizzlies in the second round of the 2002 NBA Draft only to be traded alongside Nick Anderson to obtain SG Wesley Person.

Matchups to Watch

Rudy vs. Artest and Barnes
Rudy will have his hands full dealing with these two tonight. If Rudy can overcome their lockdown defense, it translates into a good night for Rudy. If Rudy scores under 14pts and struggles, that spells trouble.

The Brothers Gasol
The infamouse brother vs. brother match everyone loves to watch. They know each other's tendencies and know that in order for their teams to win. One must outplay and outsmart the other in order to get a victory. Whichever Gasol does these things determines who wins the matchup.

OJ vs. Kobe
Plan A

Obviously Kobe will get his, but for OJ he has to continue to step up offensive and do his best effort on defense to make Kobe work for his shots.

Plan B

Let Kobe get his shots, but isolate him from the rest of his team.

Conley vs. Fish
Conley has shown progress so far in the early season. He has to keep it going as he draws the crafty veteran in Derek Fisher. Fish may not be as fast as he once was, which means he makes it up in mental craftiness. Conley needs to exploit Fish lack of quickness and take advantage.

Grudge match. I hope Marc stomps all over Pau in the paint.

The key is going to be Conley and dribble penetration to go along with offensive rebounding. If they shut us down on the glass, they win this contest. But, if we are able to get in the lane and create easy shots for Mayo and Gay (and rebound the ball for 2nd chance points), we stand a chance.

Damn my two favorite teams.

Only way I see the Grizz winning this game is if they increase the tempo. They got no shot if they're in a halfcourt game with the Lakers.

Gay's getting at least 25 points, 30 points definite possibility

Lakers just played Phoenix and Golden State (last two games). Increasing the Tempo won't get it done buddy... no chance on this one.

You're right, we shouldn't even bother to play the game! Thanks for dropping by.

We'll see. It's a combination of increasing the tempo and getting back on D. (something neither of those teams can do) Additionally, it will come down to our interior D on Pau and co.

Derek Fisher is starting point guard not Steve Blake.
Shane Battier on Kobe: "I always seem to end up on Kobe Island at some point or another, all expense paid."

Gay has scored at least 20 points 7 out of the last 10 times against Artest, scoring anything less than 20 points would be shocking. Barnes isn't good at anything

Unless Artest out-physicals Rudy, I do not see it happening. I personally do not believe that Barnes can handle him.

What Barnes may lack in one area he makes up in psychology. He has no problem getting inside ppls heads and throw them off their game. Rudy has to watch for that tonight.

Second basket and we're only down ten early. They are controlling the boards and that has been the story of the game early.....

I don't know if I can continue to watch this game, to be honest. Get Acie Law out on defense. Get Thabeet out. Put the starters in. We're horrible without them.

What a beatdown.

Can the Grizzlies give $45 million to Hasheem Thabeet to go away?
