who cares about the Hornets

Keys to the Game
1. Use Yao when he's in the game, pass him the ball instead of jacking up those 3
2. Limit those damn turnover
3. Just win the damn game

Anyone else get the feeling that West is going to light us up as usual?

one thing, david west had a career/season/near career high last season vs us. should be on the scout report. i remember mentioning him in the gamethread, saying he could erupt for a career high if we take him lightly. at least contain him. with yao and damp, we should be able to do that.

He's too quick for Yao, Damp, and Scola and too strong for skinny Hayes...

ya but now with yao and dampier we should be able to contain him. keep him at his average instead of 40-50 pts. i'd be surprised if he has another 40 pt game with yao and damp to deal with.

the rockets are really disappointing this season. Yao ming's 24 may disrupt but i seriously think it goes down simply that the rockets don't have a good enough roster. IT's turning out that Ariza is a major part of the team last year, just like his replacement was Artest was a big part. And then now Ariza's replacement is Lee and apparently Lee is not in the same caliber as Ariza or Artest whilst artest and ariza are similar caliber two. The rockets possibly made the trade to save for Bosh which didn't result. But not gettin bosh now makes a huge hole..battier isnt as productive as before and lowry isn't the spark plug he once was since the money probably weighing his capabilities down. Maybe he was goin all out back then because it was contract year. Hopefully dampier will bring a defensive culture to the rockets but he's old. The 2nd halfs are really poor so far and 2nd halves obviously defines how good a team you are. The rockets are basically missing (at least) another midlevel contract type player like Ariza or Artest to carry the load to reach the status quo of last year's team.

Courtney Lee arguably has been the second best player so far. It's not his fault other guys are not performing.

All this the Rockets are missing Ariza talk is nonesense.

Lee? are you serious? they guy look to score whenever he had the ball in his ball, reminded me of Wafer
only difference is he didn't get block when attacking the basket
beside Scola the rest are playing like crap

Lee didn't have a good pre-season, but even though he still tries to do a little too much as of right now, he's been effective on offense, while also playing good defense in the first three games.

I'll gladly take Lee's 9 points in 17 minutes on a TS% of 68.7% over Ariza's 10 points in 35 minutes on a TS% of 50.3%. Defensively it's a wash a best.

There sure are some problems, but missing Ariza is not one of them.

I agree Ariza is no better than Lee. In fact lee is a better slasher. Brooks sucks, Battier sucks, Ming sucks, Everyone sucks except Scola. It's like this teams relaxes when they have a big lead now. Then when they try to catch up its too late. Lakers and Denver game were easily winnable. GS just flat out beat them.

problem with this team is we always play at full speed
when we can't hit our shots we are doom
unlike Lakers, they always come up and play their B game
if they are trailing they will bring their A game in the 2nd half

> re: West

Jeffries is probably the best guy on our roster to defend West if he gets hot. A few blown layups is probably worth making life tough for him.

> re: Lee

I like Lee as well. Yeah, he does look to score everytime down, but so far, he's doing it pretty well. Wouldn't mind seeing him get more minutes here and there (might be he presses so much because his time is so limited). This game would be good for this since he and Lowry are our best guys to try to defend Paul.

Another thing: Rick's gotta pair Yao more with either Hill/Jeffries for certain stretches when our guards are handling the offensive load. With his decreased mobility, his ability to get defensive rebounds that aren't directly in his standing cylinder has dropped to virtually zero. Scola is great, but I do think in terms of defensive rebounding Hill/Jeff might have the edge.

Hayes defended West pretty good
CP3 had to call hack-the-chuck play to force Adelman to get Hayes out of the game so West can score some points

true.

Jeffries has the edge to contest West's J, but yeah, it's not all about height sometimes.

Maybe Adelman will try them both against West, see who works best during the game, then stick with them in crunch-time.

...

...

...

sigh.

I traded Pumpfake and Lowry for Rudy Gay and Thabeet in my assosiation mode. Rudy Gay is a beast in the game. :(
