He keeps the intensity of the team on the floor up, and puts constant pressure with his yelling to keep them doing the right thing. Especially when our bench is on the same side as we are defending, guys cannot get lazy with him practically bum rushing the floor with his arms outstretched. I don’t know if he can keep it up for 82, but so far, he’s doing a great job.

For any team, but especially one that historically is prone to night-and-day-like lapses, this is a great approach. The defensive intensity was exciting tonight and bodes well for Thibs' tenure. Overall, I'm really impressed with the Coach so far, as much as a distant observer can be.

I felt that the Bulls team defense on Roy was outstanding!!!

It's clear that Thibs worked on this and the team executed it to perfection.

I can see why he has a reputation as a defensive guru.

-Deng! Sell high please :)

-Do people still want Rudy? Yuck

-While it's not perfect, this offense is a huge breath a fresh air compared to last year. Being at this game/having a nice view from above, it was nice to see the obvious differences.

-We have some real nice role players. This team will be very interesting once Boozer enters the mix

Boozer being out can't be stressed enough. We're missing a damn All-star and once we get him back, it's going to open things up for everybody on the floor even more. I can't wait.

We need to win these games we have at home before we go out on the brutal circus trip.

The thing about Deng is that when defenses are focused on stopping him, he doesn't play well. As soon as they forget about him, he goes back to playing well. That is why I believe he will be the ideal third option when Boozer comes back.

Its actually the exact opposite of what Deng is like. He rarely has a completely unproductive game, and rarely has a dominant one. All three of these games are utter outliers for him.

He's remarkably consistent in an unspectacular way, plodding along with his 15-19 pts and 6-8 rebounds a game.

More like 12-20, he has his share of up and downs, within one game he will have big quarters then disappear, usually in the fourth unfortunately. Deng is a good system guy, so Thibs should be good for him. We just can't leave the offense like we did the last couple of games or he disappears or tries to force it and turns it over. He can't ISO or create for himself, so we gotta keep the ball moving.

“My whole goal was to see how I could control the game,” Rose said. “They were keeping two people on me, so I had to pass the ball. Tonight, we were knocking in shots.”

Again, Derrick was NOT being passive he was reacting to the defense and he did a damn good job(in the first half).

Solid win. Portland normally stomps us.

Deng with a career game. What else can you say?

Rose had a really nice floor game. A couple sloppy turnovers, but he really seemed to control the flow.

I'm excited by what I've seen so far. The Bulls are getting contributions from guys whose development was the wild card entering the year. We know Rose is a borderline superstar and might be there by playoff time. We know Noah is an all-star caliber 14/11/2 big man who brings leadership every night. We know Deng is somewhere around 18-7 and maybe he has a three this year (so far so good), etc.

But if JJ and Asik can contribute with defense, hustle and smart offense than this team could realistically challenge for the 3 or maybe even the 2 seed.

Asik is impressing me. He knows his role and is excecuting it. Doesn't pick up too many dumb fouls. Yea, well, he needs to work on that.
