I really liked Rose's game. He scored when we needed it and got everybody involved in the offense. Brewer is a bit of a worry though. I think his lack of an outside shot is turning Thibs off him a bit. If he doesn't get the starting spot soon I can't see where he fits in if JJ is going to see minutes at SG.

Very nice win against a good team.

Deng 40 points on 19 shots...that'll work.

Rose didn't have a good Q4, but otherwise very solid.

Asik continues to impress. His continued development is going to be a great thing for Noah, allowing Jo to play some easier minutes at PF spelling Boozer. Nice find.

Decent contributions from the rest of the guys.

Kudos to the refs...it wasn't a well-officiated game, but they showed great stamina.

For the 2nd night Asik is looking much better than I expected, and although Johnson did not impact the stat sheets tonight, I believe he also played well. When a second string player picks up a foul challenging a sure thing shot, that's a good thing. Most of the fouls JJ got tonight were good ones.

It's nice to see two players I wasn't expecting much out of, contributing positively.

Now to the bench. Asik keeps proving me wrong, and I couldn't be happier, I'm really happy for this kid, his rebounding, shot blocking and decision making looks better each game. Id like to see less sliding over to try and draw charges, he is big enough and skilled enough to block shots/adjust them, stick to what you are good at, no need to fall into the traps of being a lazy defender.

But I've never heard trying to draw a charge on help defense lazy before. I think he'll just need to learn to pick his spots.

I love seeing Noah and Asik together. Noah looks great at the PF IMHO. Some Asik/ Booz action will be nice to cut Noah's minutes later in the season.

Lastly, I want to highlight Thibs coaching style, hands on and active, I think it really helps with a young team like this. He keeps the intensity of the team on the floor up, and puts constant pressure with his yelling to keep them doing the right thing. Especially when our bench is on the same side as we are defending, guys cannot get lazy with him practically bum rushing the floor with his arms outstretched. I don’t know if he can keep it up for 82, but so far, he’s doing a great job.

For any team, but especially one that historically is prone to night-and-day-like lapses, this is a great approach. The defensive intensity was exciting tonight and bodes well for Thibs' tenure. Overall, I'm really impressed with the Coach so far, as much as a distant observer can be.

Last year's team routinely lost games usually by playing 3 quarters of good basketball/1 quarter of horrible, scoreless basketball. They occasionally gave up huge leads and just completely sucked. So far this young season with Thibs it seems the UnwatchaBulls-era may be coming to an end. Good riddance.

Tonight, Derrick Rose looked like that guy who won the skills competition a couple years back. What was his name? Oh yeah, Derrick Rose.

I don't expect Deng to put up 40 on a regular basis, but on 19 shots? Damn. If he can keep up that kind of efficiency we might have to start calling him the Man from Japan. Can we get a PER tracker on Lu?

I thought bogans was terrific- he completely shut down one of the top shooting guards in the league.

I loved that thibbs used the gigantor lineup of rose/jj/deng/noah/asik.

My favorite play was in the second half when there was a scrum under the basket and asik stood there with his hands up in the air, maintaining big man stance despite the ball and a pile of guys sitting there at his feet. Too funny. But overall asik has been my most pleasant surprise of the season so far.

Good win against a high quality opponent.

Bogans either played great defense or Roy wasn’t pressing for offense.
Brewer looked better.
JJ allowed no easy baskets and got a turn at playing SG.
Korver hit some good shots and made some nice plays.
Luol was great.
Noah had to deal with either Camby or the hot shooting LA. Tough assignments.
Omer deserves some calls going his way.
Rose, as a mere mortal had a very good game but as a unicorn only so-so.
Taj with the DRose like fake to the basket, then spin move.
Watson dribbled into trouble a couple of times.

Thibs gets kudos for rewarding both JJ and Omer with early calls off the bench.

Bulls on pace to set an NBA record for most FTs allowed by an opponent (and by a wide margin).

Last two games: 44minutes 8pts 12rebs 3blks and very good defense. His per 36 6.5pts and 10rebs are a little lower than I expected - but I suspect by the end of the year they will be around 10 & 12. He's extremely active on the defensive end, and can be a weapon around the basket on the offensive side with tip ins and offensive boards.

There were way too many people who had nothing better to do than make post after post about Asik being another piece of euro-trash and a stiff to slow for the NBA game - and that he'd never play any real minutes. Good to see Asik proving them wrong so early in the season

Good defensive game all around. I think Thibs' defensive machine is beginning to emerge.
As a fan of Deng, sweet Lu, I enjoyed this game tremendously.
Asik was fantastic, Noah matched up nicely against Camby with 42mins.
It was also good to see Taj with some post moves, and Korver hustling on defense.

Thanks, maybe lazy isn't the right word, but something about watching a 7ft+ shot blocker slide across to try and draw a charge against Brandon Roy bothered me. I can understand if Shaq is trying to back into you and throwing his weight around, but a guard getting into the paint, I'm of the belief you should send his shot back or into the 3rd row and make him think twice about it....if you slide across and he gets to the line (and lets be honest it was a foul on Asik) then he just figures he can do that next time. It worked last game, and I'll be happy when it does work, as long as he doesnt start looking to come across with that thought in his mind, I want him to stick to what he's clearly good at and i.e. blocking shots....with his elbow hahaha

Four bigs will play. Asik's time is definitely going to get cut when Boozer comes back - but Noah wont be playing 40mpg either.
