OT: Mike Conley

Post#1 » by zapatasblood » Tue Nov 2, 2010 8:31 pm

The Grizzlies signed Mike Conley Jr. to a contract extension late Monday night, according to the guard's agent.

Conley is represented by his father, Mike Conley Sr., and Bill Duffy.

The contract is worth $45 million over five seasons, according to sources with knowledge of the situation.

Conley's strong play in the preseason and early in the regular season is believed to have sparked the team's decision to lock him up over the long-term.

Does Mike Conley getting his extension make it harder to sign Brooks and increase the money he is going to get? Dear god I hope not

brooks is a scoring guard not point guard
he doesn't know how to play without trying to score first

I think this only increases the impetus to trade Brooks.

NBA.com even seemed to imply something about Brooks' contract by including him in the picture for Conley's contract announcement. What else exactly would they be trying to get at?

Is it too late for a "David Kahn and Chris Wallace were siamese twins that were joined at the brain" joke?

Instead of resigning Brooks I would rather offer Llull enough to make him accept a buyout (which would still be a lot less than trying to sign Brooks) and start Lowry until he gets a handle on the NBA rules. Is that even possible?
