must be counting on the salary rollback - even so, that's crazy. Then again ...... Heisley

The Dudley signing has made me a much happier Suns fan. I have been worried that the Suns would overpay him, and offer him a deal like Conley's. Great news to know that we are getting him at a very very reasonable price.

Conley - "This season, the 23-year-old Conley is averaging 15 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 8.3 assists per game." That's in only a few games but better than i imagined. But werent they just onthe verge of saying he'
d been a mistake, last year?

very odd

but Duds - hell yeah! Good deal for both sides, very moveable, gives Duds some security and he earned it

skones wrote:Also, I VERY much disagree with Warrick's contract being reasonable. He is one year removed from signing a 1 year 3 million dollar deal with us and did absolutely nothing to show that he suddenly became worth 4 years 18 million dollars. He's a low IQ player who relies on his athleticism far too much. Channing Frye is what he is, a soft jump shooting big man, that found a niche with your team last season. I don't think he's a long term piece worth giving the money you guys did, but we can agree to disagree.

I do like the Childress signing though. The Bucks expressed a lot of interest in him last summer and this past. This summer we went in a different direction after Delfino showed that he could provide much of the same Childress would. He's looked pretty awful so far, but I'd assume he'd need a little time to get re acclimated to the NBA game.

I think you'll like Delfino - he looked very good with TO a couple years back. I thin at that point they just had too many guys who were about the same skill set and skill level, all competing for the same minutes.
I can see what you mean about Warrick but he's going to have nash and Hill to show him how to exploit that athleticism to best effect, not too mention Gentry and Marjerle. Check back on him in a few months
Frye I tend to agree with you on, but it was a very strange summer - I think our FO was afraid we'd made him look good enough that another team was going o offer him stupid, Isiah-type money, and so locked him up quick. Slightly overpaid is the worst you can say about him though - excellent teammate, had working, coachable, and turning into a bot of a shot blocker of late.

Oh I LOVE Delfeezy (Delthreeno, Delthreezy). He's one of my favorite players on the team, and he's been very very good so far for us this season.

I feel the same way. Unfortunately it's looking like he could be our best trade asset.

"With the money he’s going to receive from his extension, Dudley plans on saving for the future, buying his mother a house and giving Nash a gift. He said that he feels obligated to give his point guard something, because in his mind, Nash’s ability to make his teammates look good is one of the reasons he received the extension in the first place."

Is he the first guy to do this?

Our best trade asset is the TPE + a future pick. I just dont see this front office committing to whatever contract(s) will be required in order to trade JRich and his 14.4 million.... not unless its for a player to build with.

Look around. There are not many available/desirable bigs in his price range

Well, it seems specially true for Dudley. He has been following Nash everywhere since he came to PHX. Asking him about his diet and things like that. Definitely helped him.

Imagine what kind of present Marion would have to get Steve.

After reading the Bright Side stuff, and other various articles about the signing, I'm pretty sure Jared Dudley is going to be one of my all-time favorite Suns players.

I still think PHI could be open to a JRich for Iggy deal...they can shed JRich's deal after the season and Turner's the natural replacement to go into the starting lineup

Would only really happen if both teams were well out of it

Hard not to love the guy, isn't it? I feel bad that Lou didn't get to stick around

I thought about that, but I have a feeling Sarver wouldn't be willing to take on Iggy's long term deal. After locking up Dudley, JChill Frye for 5, Warrick and Hedo for 4, it's tough to see Sarver going for Iggy's deal even though he'd be a magnificent fit with Phoenix.

Put Iggy on the market and imagine what offers the rest of the league will present.... unless we could sweeten the JRich pot significantly...ie a lotto pick... we are second fiddle to many.

Besides, the wing position already is our deepest and strongest.

Its time we deal for need not greed.

Props to Dudley and his gratuitous intentions.

It's been pointed out here that Duds is " a guy that teams like a lot but aren't willing to pay a lot for", the old 'intangibles v. stats" thing (though Duds stats are in no way bad)

Is there anyone else like that we could deal for? I guess the king of that is Battier -

who could we bring here that's smart, works hard, willing to play D and board ... besides Lou

For those who thinks Dudley's is too good to be true, well it gets better. I just found out his new extension has a base year salary structure. Unlike most extensions that goes up every year, Dudley's deal stays the same at $4.25m. So he'll get paid $4.25m next season, which I think is quite fair, and he'll still be getting paid only $4.25m at the end of his deal. We won't be seeing him on $6-$7m which he would be on if he took the standard yearly raise structure.

Also, he gets a $125,000 bonus every year we make playoffs and a further $125,000 if we make 2nd round.
