The other unfit starter is the anchor of the team who always starts seasons poorly. We got beaten by a better team.

Give it a few weeks at least before chucking in the towel. I think we'll be 3-7 or 4-6 after 10. Then we really should start to click. Obviously I'd like us to be 5-5 or 6-4, but watching the team at the moment, that's not going to happen. I'm willing to be patient.

You didn't watch did you Jez :D

No, and I probably won't get time to. Work will be rather busy now one of my collaegues jumped off a balcony and broke 7 ribs and a wrist :-? But we looked OK against Charlotte, and Portland was always going to be better than us. That's why I didn't make specific comments on the game :) Bogut did get blocked all the time, which I suppose is what people were talking about him being passive. I'm just being optimistic - we started last season pretty badly too :D

The second, third and fourth quarters were about as bad as basketball gets. I knew you didn't watch because no one who watched will be as positive as you just were :D

You should definitely tell your coworker not to jump off balconies. Or find a higher one....

I liked Armon Johnson in the draft. He had nice measurements and really good efficiency stats.

LMA has legit PF/C size, so maybe it just took him awhile to realize it.

You wouldn't think a mid-30's physio would try and jump into a pool from a balcony, but here we are...

I shall continue to not watch our crap basketball and be optimistic :D Can't say 14 points in a 1/4 of bball is much to be optimistic about...

maybe we'll start to play better if we start identifying ourselves as a crappy underdog team.

bogut and jennings need to lead. as out of sorts as we are with the rest of the team, we cant win if neither of those 2 bring their A game. at least 1 or both need to have an A game or were cooked. i dont care how salmons, maggette, gooden, delfino, etc, etc are..... if our 2 goto guys, arent goto guys, then the others are gonna mail it in.

ugly games so far. im not even enjoying watching them really.

Got back from the game.

Unfortunately tonight reminded me a lot of that Philly home game back in the fall of 2007(?). It was that game where we had momentum with that 7-4 record and then the players came out to a sparse crowd, got spanked by Andre Miller and Philly and it all went downhill from there.

Tonights crowd was pathetic. This was the second game of the year for a playoff team against a high quality opponent. That crowd tonight were chicken littles. Almost like people sensed the team last year might have been a fluke so why get emotionally invested.

Squad 6---you guys have to get the horns and drum back.

Herb Kohl/John Hammond----please don't tell me we blew our wad this past summer a year too early.

Salmons is playing like I expected and like he has played his whole career when its his 2nd season on a team. Most overrated team this season. Added nobody good and signing Salmons and Gooden who are scrubs to big contracts.

I loved Salmons last year when he had the motivation of a contract year and playoffs on a new team, but Salmons is already back to his self now. Kinda reminds me of Randy Moss.

It's early, but I'm a little concerned. EVERY single one of our off season transactions (Gooden, Maggette, Dooling, Brockman, Boykins, Salmons ext) look really bad right now. I'm really hoping everything gets back on track.

Agree with PP about the crowd. It was pathetic.

its really a big deal that the crowd sucked. you can see our team lacks swagger or the hungry chip on the shoulder that became ftd. this is more than "just not geling" imo. were playing scared and like were overmatched. something is missing from last year and it feels like more than just chemistry. personally i think we have too many guys for any real roles...... i think the role players are bummed, and our stars feel overmatched with taking the next step which is the new task at hand.

Yep, Salmons. The guy who has been injured all preseason and has only played 4 games so far. He's out of shape, but calling him Randy Moss is one of the dumbest comparisons I've seen on this board.

Randy Moss?

I was really shocked by the crowd when the camera panned up. Hard to believe the place was half full on our second home game of the year against a good young team, I really thought Milwaukee would embrace the team this season. Hell I'm about to organize to divert my honeymoon at great expense to watch them against Detroit and Toronto in April lol.

And on Saturday night the clocks get set back an hour giving Milwaukee an extra hour of bar time. No doubt that will hurt attendance. 8-)

Agreed on Salmons, Gooden and Dooling, but I wouldn't say Maggette, Brockman or Boykins look 'really bad'.

Maggette is doing what he's paid to do. He'll take some bad shots and miss some assignments on D, but we all knew that coming in. Dude is averaging 16/5 in 22 mpg, he's far from perfect but on this team that's his job. Brockman was acquired for Darnell Jackson, when you watch him play it's worth keeping that in mind. He's not playing his best ball but he's working hard. Boykins has barely set foot on the court and when he has he's been OK.

I'll agree with you on Boykins, he hasn't played enough to warrant any kind of analysis. As far as Brockman maybe it's Skiles fault for playing him at center or maybe it's my fault for thinking he'd be this rebound machine, but the guy doesn't play like I thought he would. He tries hard, but hell, Jerrod would try hard. Maggette is the loan bright spot for me right now, but the ball movement completely stops when he's in the game.
