For those who go to games

Post#1 » by teven_1 » Wed Nov 3, 2010 6:34 pm

I don't live in Minny so I don't have the option but for those of you that do maybe you guys should get a Darko chant to get him pumped up. He played really well in his debut game and reporters mentioned the crowds chant. He's missed a lot of shots but maybe some home game cheers will get the guy amped and dominating. Hey I know I've said it a thousand times but we are backing the guy no one else was willing to. Lets do whatever it takes to unlock the potential.

Also a Beasley chant so the guy knows he's appreciated (maybe it'll encourage him to stay for a long time).

Also I mentioned this in another post but the Pacers employ Walton to train Hibbert any chance we can get a former great? man if only KG retired we could maybe employ him. Although he's probably a die hard celt now....:(

I wonder if Kevin McHale is available? He was a decent big man back in the day, and he's a local guy coming from Hibbing and all. What's he been up to lately?

Yeah Lambier is also a good option. Lambier already had some workouts with Darko. Mchale would be amazing though. Since he's not a member of the coaching staff already he can be a trainer for Darko (and Pek and even Love) full time, sorta like Ewing with Dwight back in the day.

I agree McHale would be the best choice. Don't think he's on the best of terms with the current FO, though. What I would LOVE to see is Darko and Pek working out with Olajuwon. It would have to be in the offseason but he could teach them so much.

Ahem...There is a Darko chant and a Pekovic chant.

These things need to grow organically. lol. I'm doing my best.

It started growing a little last year as I actually heard the silly chant we started on TV during a game I wasn't attending. But I think it lost a little momentum with the off-season.

lol fair enough. bill simmons has a twitter for Celtics chats, maybe we can get some sort of Minny chants group. Galvanize a large amount of the crowd sorta deal.

This is why I prefer high school and college basketball. Better fan participation.

The Bucks went with this idea of basically creating a section simply to cheer rugby style to make Bogut feel at home. I believe Bogut donated money to find the best/rowdiest fans and put them all in the same section to combined their efforts and hopefully the rest of the arena would catch on.

Well, I guess I can make a shout out to others here.

If you are at the game and Darko scores, after the announcer yells "DAAAAAARRRRKKOOO!" Yell back "POLO!" a second later.

After Pek scores, yell "NEEEEEKOLA" (Like the Ricola commercials)

You will get some head turns and laughs, but hopefully others will follow.

When Minny comes to TO, I'll be sure to go and chant although they'll be away but I'll try to recruit Minny sympathizers to help me out.

Also if you guys just chanted Darkos (I'm keying in on Darko cuz he has the least confidence) name and got more people to join in I'm sure that would amp the guy up

its gonna be hard to start a chant when the crowd starts getting depressed when they realizing how much money and time they blew to come to the game by the 10 min mark of the 2nd quarter and the Wolves are down double digits

Too true, which is all the more reason why we need them. Must as well sound like idiots on top of getting ripped-off, right?
