I think the problem with Kirk at PG on our team, is that he needs bigs who set solid screens, since he can't take people off the dribble consistently... Since our bigs can't set good screens, he's forced to pound the ball till the open man gets away from his defender...

Wall can take his man off the dribble, make the defense collapse on him and kick it out to the open man... So can Gil...

If Wood (or any compentent screen-setter) was here, I think things would be a bit easier on him...

Wall and KH together in the backcourt is not a recipe for success. The Wiz were pretty effective when NY1 was on the court with either Wall or KH b/c of his outside shooting. The Wiz struggled early in Q1 b/c they didn't have that outside threat. When Gilbert comes back it will hopefully change that dynamic. The following combination/rotation would seem ideal:

Wall/Gilbert
KH/NY1

Good times at the VZ last night.

I hope John Wall will continue to be the humble guy he is. The Word of God says he who humbles himself shall be exalted. He who exalts himself, shall be bought down. The guy will go FAR and beyond if he continues to be the person he is now.

Sort of depressing the way we made Elton Brand look like an all-star again. Is he finally getting back near his old form, or is he still just as "done" as last year and we're just pathetic on D? His bankshot to put the Sixers up 1 was very impressive and he shot lights out all night.

Yeah, Brand has actually been on a tear so far - 18 points, 10 boards, 2 assists, 2.5 steals & 2 blocks a game on over .50% shooting in 5 games so far.

He is really attacking the offensive glass. He is averaging over 4 ORB per game. Only Zach Randloph did that last season in more than 10 games(Earl Barron did it in 7). What is surprising about Brand is that he is contributing on defense too(2+ spg, 1.5+ bpg). I think the steals will come down, but it looks like he could have a real bounce back season.
