Here is my starting line-up

Post#1 » by Torcher » Thu Nov 4, 2010 2:17 am

PG-Luke "Skywalker" Ridnour
SG-Wes "Snipes" Johnson
SF-Michael "The Beast" Beasley
PF-Kevin "McLovin"
C-Nikola "The Warrior" Pekovic

To me, Darko has just lost all of his confidenice. Before he can become a starter, he first needs to prove to us that he is ready. So instead I'm putting Pek in there.

What do you think?

Our defense has looked horrible so far. But while Darko's bricking everything atm, he's actually shown a bit on the defense end and has looked like our only post player capable of blocking shots in the post. Pek's fouling is a concern as well, he's fouling out in less than 15 minutes and hasn't shown a whole lot defensively. He's not a starter.

Against the Hawks on Friday, I'd go with:

PG - Ridnour vs Mike Bibby
SG - Brewer vs Joe Johnson
SF - Wesley vs Marvin Williams
PF - Beasley vs Josh Smith (if Beasley is right to play)
C - Love vs Al Horford

This is probably the best defensive lineup we can offer. Allow Wes and Beasley to score, Love to bang inside and Ridnour & Brewer to get steals and hit some threes.

Have Darko sub for Love, Tolliver for Beasley, Hayward for Wes, Ellington for Brewer and Telfair for Ridnour.

Beasley and Webster are the only guys that can remotely create their own shot from the 2/3, w/o either its just awful. Ridnour has to play out of his mind to compete w/ this cast because he's the only one w/ handles and any ability to score whatsoever. Teams are starting to realize you can just crowd everybody and nobody can hurt them off the dribble at all.

From the way his post is worded, it seems as though this is actually Kurt Rambis' account.

If this starting line up runs out for the next game, then it actually is him, in which case i want his IP address to hunt him down for a nice seafood dinner.

Otherwise OP has delusions of running the team from his xbox,.

We either need to start Darko or give up any pretenses of defense (meaning no Brewer) and hope that we can outscore the other team.

I was of the opinion that a Love/Pekovic pairing would be good for the 2nd unit, but after watching this game, I'm pretty sure that for every 10 points that pairing gives us on offense, they give up 30 on the other end.

In that lineup I'd rather put Tolliver at centre, but either way we'd be slaughtered by any team with height or decent big men. Our defence still needs a lot of work.

I think Love/Pek can work against some teams. Our bigs really struggle at being able to defend all types of post play.

Vs. ORL for instance, I think Tolliver would've been best on Anderson as Love probably couldn't keep up and guard the face up stuff.
Dwight was going to murder whoever was on him....so Let Pek/Love bang for position and have Darko D up best he can...and hope he doesn't drop a 20-20 game.

I like Ice's lineup for ATL...but I'd imagine benching Darko could lead to all sorts of problems. I think we can stick with the same 5 as last game, only make quick subs once Smith starts to kill us.
I'm predicting big games from Marvin Williams and Jamal Crawford.

If we start tolliver, we might as well trade for livingston, start him at the 1 and then we can have an entire starting line up of 6'8'' 6'9'' guys

That would be EPIC. We should trade for Ben Wallace too just to, you know, have a real centre in there somewhere.

Pekovic isn't playing the same kind of play that the last season in Europe. He was dominant in the paint here. He could use his weight because of diferent kind of players, different systems and specially the different rules in the paint.

But the NBA is different, here doesn't exist the zone, you can't live in the paint and he needs quickness away the basket. He can't play static and he needs learn the individual defense. Tonight he lost his position in defense continually and he seemed a strainer.

C? ... I think he will not be better center than Darko and we never see Pekovic playing minutes, at least many minutes. PF? ... give him a chance this season, but he needs adjust his his offense and specially his defense to the NBA kind of play.

EDIT : I think mr. Kahn must try to measure your words, and don't to raise false expectations. The same for Rubio.
