Re: Coro's "3 Suns Questions to Ponder"
1. Wasn't a Nash-Dragic lineup last year one of our best? This means going even smaller, though..sooo I don't know. But he definitely needs a bigger role than just Nash's fill in. I do love how we can let Nash sit until the 5-6 minute marks of each half if we want.
2. Start Warrick. He's more active and isn't looking to just shoot 3's. Warrick is perfect for Nash. Hedo is worthless, sadly. Don't get why we acquired him more than ever now.
3. That was weird to see from Nash. There was a point in the 2nd quarter I believe where he just kept shooting:

Took 7 of our 8 shots since he returned and made 2 of 7. Weird to see from Nash. Reminds me of the finish to the Portland game where he felt he had to do everything.

5:26 40-40 Steve Nash enters the game for Goran Dragic.
5:11 42-40 Steve Nash misses running jumper.
5:09 42-40 Garret Siler offensive rebound.
4:56 42-40 Steve Nash misses 9-foot jumper.
4:30 42-42 Steve Nash makes 14-foot jumper.
4:00 44-44 Steve Nash makes 13-foot jumper.
3:35 44-47 Jared Dudley makes 24-foot three point jumper (Steve Nash assists).
3:04 46-47 Steve Nash misses 11-foot jumper.
2:26 48-47 Steve Nash misses 13-foot jumper.
2:05 48-47 Steve Nash defensive rebound.
1:54 48-47 Steve Nash misses hook shot.

I'm more interested in what we're going to do with Hedo. Dragic has shown he can hold his own so I'm not worried about minutes or what not with him and Nash knows when to shoot and if he's shooting too much, it's usually because something else is wrong.

To be fair, those shots are money shots for him on 9 out of 10 nights.

Indeed. But don't you think it wasn't normal for Nash to look for his shot that much? But hey, if he makes those, he had a great game and we are sitting here saying "If he needs to, he can score"..which we kind of already know. Bad game from him, scratch it off, we probably won't see something like that very often this year.

Re: Coro's "3 Suns Questions to Ponder"
I agree we shouldn't read too much into one game but combined with the end of the PTL game, it's not a good sign
I think the problem is, he's not being just a shooter, he's a point guard who works like hell and then ends up giving the shot to himself, worst of both worlds.
if we're going to make nash a shooter - let Hedo have the ball - better by far, let Dragic play the point and Steve can just come off screens and shoot

"Dragic won't look like this every night but when he has more assists (eight) than Nash (seven) in half as much time, it is worth riding him and that second unit. Even with Channing Frye going 1 for 4, the backups went 17 for 28 (60.7 percent) from the field while the starters went 24 for 64 (37.5 percent)."
That was y big question last night - Alvin had faith in the bench last year and left them in when they were rolling. Why not last night?

Ehh, I don't know about that. There were numerous times last year where the bench was killin and Alvin brought in the starters. It's really a tough situation for him especially if it were to backfire on him.

Clark was probably a pick-me-up move after the Suns declined to pick up his option and Gentry has felt for how hard Clark has worked without things clicking for him. Siler is a move to keep in mind. Gentry had been close to putting him into previous games and his centers gave him every reason to try something different Wednesday. Siler had his high moments defensively, like blocking two shots, and low moments offensively, like staring at a Nash lob without moving as if it was a UFO flying over his head.

Re: Coro's "3 Suns Questions to Ponder"
I remember nash taking all those shots. Before he went on his rampage, I was very frustrated with the lack of motion from the team. everyone was stagnant and standing around watching him. Once the defense clogged teh paint on the picknroll, there were multiple times where he had to pick up his dribble and make an awkward pass out to the perimeter.
If you really analyze the situation, you can see why he unloaded all those shots.

That's exactly what I saw. Offense got stagnant and he got to his sweet spot at the same time with the defense giving him the shot. It would be foolish to pass out in those situation. On most nights he'll be hitting 4 of 5 with a hand in his face so I can't really argue about his shot selection. Again, if he's taking more shots that he usually does, it isn't because he wants to but because he's forced to. The guy is probably top 3 in the NBA in terms of bball IQ so I trust he judgment and if he's taking too many shots, it's because something else is wrong.

I think he had to take those shots. He took what the Spurs D gave him(Parker could not keep up with him at ALL lol). They were great shots...they just missed.
