A few weeks early...

Good news. I know some are sour on him, but ya don't have to start him if ya feel you have chemistry on your line. It will be good depth.

I imagine he will start on Sun. It is pretty awesome to be 6-1 when you get him back. I bet that a little fear started to creep as far as what if they don't use me? How much does a guard get in FA if he can't crack the starting line up?

Finally. Took him long enough.

No reason for him to start. Got to get into football shape first. Plus just does not look good for him to start right off.

Ding ding ding! I don't think he'll start this week but I bet he saw that he was a lot more replaceable than he thought and realized he needed to bust his butt and get back to keep his value high. The Pats were underwhelmed with the trade calls they got, and there weren't many.

I don't know if that reflects his value as much as unity and/or collusion by the owners not to be screwing with each other while they are try and enforce the rules on the books. This was one of the advantages the owners got in exchange for the uncapped year.

But really the hard part is how does Mankins maintain any value while not having a long term impact on the field. The hardest part for him and any interior linemen is that no other team is likely to value you more than your own team.
