Trade dead line ...what do we do?

Post#1 » by Tee212 » Sat Nov 6, 2010 7:53 am

Are we happy right now guys? do we need any extra pieces? im all for dumping luke n sasha? This is currently the deepest lineup we have since the show time days imo. Im pretty happy with our versatile line up we currently have at given quarter or stretch.

discuss?

If we can dispatch Walton and Vujacic for a servicable big man, that would be great. I'm not expecting a big time trade thou.

I'd be surprised if we made any moves to be honest. Nobody wants to take Luke or Vujacic in exchange for anything. With that being said, our lineup is probably set for the rest of this season, which is fine by me.

I'm sure some teams want Sasha. A "shooter" + expiring contract will be in some demand. Like Black Mamba II said, it would be for a serviceable big, to do things Ratliff can't do with his age and lack off offense (and just to have another backup in case of injury)

Pray someone gives us anything for Sasha and/or Luke, realize it won't happen, and do nothing.

We won't do anything, and nobody is going to accept Sasha or Luke. Too many unknowns with both.

Try trading Sasha/Walton for a better contract but worse player. Other than that, nothing

I was going to say Nothing, but when i look at Boston, i begin to think maybe Bynum and Ratliff isnt enough at the center position (I'd rather not live by the idea that Pau can slide to the Center position). We will most likely meet Boston in the finals. When you play a team that has Shaq, KG, JO, Baby, and that Semi fella,.... you need big bodies. I can imagine Both Bynum and Ratliff being in foul trouble and thus having Pau on shaq. That kills the whole twin tower effect which is a huge part of the lakers identity as a team.

We had Pau and Bynum, they had KG and Perkins. hmm... i smell a reversal of advantages

We don't need special talent... just a massive scrub that can take up fouls. Caracter doesnt have the size.. (like Mbenga).

Unfortunately like most have said here, no-one will touch Luke and sasha... oh well...

That would be great....I just don't see many takers.

All we really need is a serviceable big.

I don't see why no one would touch Sasha. I get Luke, he has that nasty contract and injury problems with 2 years remaining. But Sasha? Teams will have hope that he can shoot with more minutes or a change of scenery, but the most important thing is his expiring contract. Most people just get caught up in "They'd never want this piece of ****!!!" that they forget about the important financial aspect of the deal.

i don't see a move happening

Trade Sasha's expiring for another asset to make us deeper or let him expire to help Buss' pocketbook.

Hopefully everyone is healthy, but if we need to trade Sasha and a pick to make sure Phil has all the pieces for his last battle so be it.

I think Bynum has a better chance at being healthy for the playoffs than the O'Neals. Baby is the size of Caracter as well.
