Great rebounder/tapper, terrific low post defender (face-up or backing down), more of a shot changer than a shot blocker, tough and physical and a team player who never complains. For $2-million that's a bargain, although I would understand why you'd rather have Hill getting those minutes. I personally think Hayes is better.

Dampier no longer going to the Rockets.

Rockets no longer signing Erick Dampier, Jermaine Taylor's agent Michael Whitaker said Sunday. #hounews

Good, that would have been too many bigs anyway. Besides, life makes more sense with Erika aligned with the darkside of the force.

Hope Morey has a better trade lined up...

I'm fine with not getting Damp since Hill has emerged as a very good defender.

rockets opt to not sign dampier

Post#50 » by bubba » Mon Nov 8, 2010 7:05 pm

Less than two weeks after they agreed on a contract, the Rockets and free-agent center Erick Dampier came to a very different agreement Sunday.

The Rockets will not sign Dampier as planned, with the Rockets’ stumbling start making the short-term move no longer appealing to the team or the NBA veteran.

so were keeping jt and not signing dampier. i think this could be good since our guards are gettin hurt.

Brooks + Jeffries + Battier for Andrew Bynum?

f: chase budinger, chuck hayes, mike harris
f: luis scola, jordan hill, patrick patterson
c: yao ming, brad miller, andrew bynum
g: kyle lowry, ish smith, antonio anderson
g: kevin martin, courtney lee, jermaine taylor
Harden is still a work-in-progress. He can score, but he can't help his teammate that much - Yao Ming

doesnt this team have enough injuries to deal with? you wanna add bynum to the mix?

miller cant get spot minutes with that contract, he needs to get used to the system so he can make that contract useful.

The last thing the Rockets need is another mediocre center. I'm glad that they didn't sign him.
