...and there it is.

Like I said in the post-game, if he isn't good enough to be our #3 it doesn't make any sense to cut someone on the active. It's sad but the guy is in his 30s, plays a position that relies on speed and quickness, and he's got a knee.

This won't hurt the Packers. Not after what I've seen from our DBs. It's just a shame that his Packer career had to come to an end like this.

All the best, Al.

Just saw this. He REALLY messed up his knee last year but I can't believe this is how his Packer career will end. I don't see what the harm would have been to just IR him again but he is about to be 36 and again he REALLY messed up his knee.

Good luck AL.

This sucks. He was one of my favorite Packers and that Seahawks play is one of my favorite Packer moments of all time.

Just goes to show you how confident the team is in Sam Shields' play.

I have absolutely no idea how Harris has looked in practice, but i do wonder if he can offer more than say Underwood if an injury struck a CB?

Then again, Harris doesn't play special teams and with our thin roster, can't have a 4th/5th CB who does place special teams.

So long as he doesn't somehow end up on the Vikings or Bears and actually contribute, i wish him only the best in his hopes to keep playing. Al was never blessed with great size or speed, yet he had a great career simply by playing tougher and smarter than many corners in the NFL who were blessed with better physical gifts. You'd never see Harris pull out the ole cape as Jenkins on the Cowboys did tonight, Al played with the kind of heart/pride for a corner that all other corners should, but instead many are mushy soft.

It's sad that his GB career has come to an end, but if there's no place for him in our secondary, we might as well give him a chance to latch on elsewhere. It's been a great ride, Al.

Most physical DB I ever watched and loved watching Harris jam WRs so hard they would land on thier backs. Good news is Shields and Williams are playing so great we can let Harris go. If i was GM I would not let Harris go though in my opinon.

As good as that pick against the Seahawks was Ill never be able to shake Harris getting man handled and burned play after play from Burress. Ill remember that till I die and always wonder why Harris didn't get any help.

He is definitely one of my favorite Packers ever. In fact, he might be my favorite.

I am a bit shocked, but if he can't play the special teams or win the nickle spot......but if someone were to go down you are left with Lee and Underwood.....that is scary.

Man, this really sucks. I'm sure he's going to end up on the Vikings too. They are really weak and banged up in the secondary this season. I don't know if I can tolerate that.

The dude gave it his all every week when he was with us. I was holding out hope that we'd see him sometime this season but obviously that's not going to happen.

Any chance he gets in the Packer HOF?

I wouldn't say it is a lock he can even contribute all that much to another team.

I really don't think they'd cut Al Harris if they thought he had anything left.

Great player. Great Packer. Sad to see his career as a Packer (and maybe his career as a whole) end this way.

Can't say I'm too stun though... When you get that serious of a knee injury at a position that relies that much on speed/quickness, most guys are done.

You just know he's gonna be a Viking. We did the same with Green two weeks ago, karma is gonna get us back.

"I had a great time in Green Bay. I have nothing bad to say about the time that I was there. Everybody was great. I guess Mike and Ted just thought I wasn't good enough to play on their team."

Asked if he thought this was just another example of Thompson wanting to go with a young roster, Harris said: "That may be it, but I don't thnk it's just a that. I kind of started to feel after awhile ... I don't know. It just caught me off guard."

Ouch. :(

Harris is probably just upset.

The coaches gave him three weeks as the nickel in practice to show what he could do. He cites this as a negative, but they obviously gave him every opportunity to earn a job. I'm sure it sucks for him, but having him take all those reps is a pretty big deal.

Wonder if they gave him the option to remain on the PUP?

God, I really wish it didn't have to go down this way. I wanted to see Harris make a comeback from this so badly.

You can no longer be on the PUP. Do you mean the IR? I wondered myself if they offered to put him on IR.
