I would like to maintain Millsap's minutes at 36mpg, Jefferson could get 36, and give Okur the remaining minutes at the 4 and 5.
Jefferson (36) / Okur (12)
Millsap (36) / Okur (12)
Kirilenko (32) / Miles (16)
Bell (32) / Miles (16)
Williams (38) / Price (10)
In a nut shell
Williams - 36
Jefferson - 36
Millsap - 36
Kirilenko - 32
Bell - 32
Miles - 32
Okur - 24
Price - 10
Basically an 8 man rotation to be promised PT, when in foul trouble or struggling obviously we'll give Elson, Fes, Hayward, Watson, and Evans their minutes, but to me there 7 players that need to be in as much as possible, then our PG's need to play the remaining 10 minutes (unfortunately), and up to now Price has been far better, higher FG%, more spg, less turnovers, more ppg, and last but not least FAR more energy.
Anyways, Hayward is not getting the trust of his teammates, naturally he's going to get some PT even though I didn't figure into my optimal rotation, but I really don't see how he helps us at this point to really make him part of rotation, except for maybe a secret weapon against some teams like LA.

Re: Rotation when Okur returns?
I think Sloan needs to move AK to the bench in favor of Hayward. I know Hayward has been anything but brilliant, but he works hard, and his lack of offense right now will be far more easily hidden along Deron, Paul and Al.
We simply can't afford to have a bench that only gives us 10-15 points a night when CJ is cold.

I think Millsap and Kirilenko are players that play significantly better as starters, and I don't think we can afford to shake Kirilenko's confidence by subbing him for a rookie. If anybody can move to the bench it's Bell, but I think he'll be just fine, he's still getting his legs (had most of last year off) and he has to adjust his game to a new system (I know he played on the Jazz... like 6 years ago, and a far different team). Lets stick to this team as is, when Okur comes off the bench, we'll be getting an easy 25 from those two, not too mention a few from Evans and Hayward as they get better, and so on.

Agree that AK is the best option to put back on the bench. Millsap's numbers as a starter are awesome, and Al isn't going anywhere. But I also like AK as a starter. These three together have been kinda good.
Hayward needs more seasoning. He needs a breakout game or two before he is considered for a starting job. I would continue to rely on CJ, and I would continue to let him fire away. He'll settle into his role eventually. Elson & Watson will likewise progress as contributors the more they play with the Jazz. This group is just going to take time.

Exactly, it's like the Heat, I have no doubt that they will be contenders, but through 6 games their record could be anything, and people are starting to question how good Lebron and Bosh are. Big changes generally take time, though there is the rare exception in teams like the 2007-08 Celtics, as those bad boys were full throttle from the start.

Re: Rotation when Okur returns?
I think we would be better served having Okur in the starting lineup (when he's healthy of course). Meaning that Millsap or AL has to go to the bench. IMO, AL and Millsap duplicate skills to a certain extent. I haven't been impressed with them both starting (although, I have been very impressed with how Millsap has been playing). I am not a big fan of Okur, but if there's something that he does well its camp the 3pt line, which does help clear out the middle. Also this gives our 2nd unit a go to scorer. Throw Millsap in with the 2nd unit and have him eat up the opposing backup pf (millsap wouldn't be in the starting lineup, but would get starter min).
Starters:
DW
Bell
AK
Jefferson
Okur
2nd Unit:
Price
CJ
Hayward
Milsap
Fes/Elson

Re: Rotation when Okur returns?
At this point, I think it's more important for Millsap to start than it is to space the floor for Al. Sap's numbers have been top tier when he starts, and he knows the offense better than Al. He's a walking, talking double-double on the floor. You don't trade that for Memo's 13/7 just to open things up at the beginning of the game. I think you watch to see who's having the better night, and then you pair that guy with Okur at the end.
And on Memo's side, he's always been fairly terrible at the beginning of games. His shooting is cold, he's not into the game, and he's a liability. He's best at the end of each half when he is usually a clutch scorer. I think 24 minutes is perfect for him coming off the bench, and then you let the other two play 36 a piece. That's probably all you can hope for out of the guy this year anyway.

Marc Stein on his power rankings:
it's official: I definitely underestimated how much this Jazz misses how well Okur spaces the floor.
I am not usually an advocate for Okur, but I definitely agree with Stein on this one.

Re: Rotation when Okur returns?
I didnt! we just usually dont play without him!he was usually the only guy in there while Booz and Ak were out! Memo has been a huge part of our team for the last 5 years! i think this team will be close to jelling by then and memo will fit very nicely to help our bench!
