93-89

Lose by 4 without our starting or backup sf.

Really not that bad of a loss.

It's a tough loss but a competitive game against the Magic at their place on a back to back? That's a moral win for the Hawks.

Good game plan by LD, although there's some WTF moments.

Hawks do need Marvin or Evans out there guarding people in close games.

Happy with the effort. Sad with the result.

Jamal had a bad game. 4-11 and 0-3 from 3. Josh was 1-3 from 3 and 6-15 overall. Joe was solid but not superheroic with 9 for 15.

That was a pretty well played game outside of Drew's substitution patterns. I realize it was the 2nd half of a back to back.....but Zaza and Teague got way too many minutes and Etan Thomas shouldn't have been on the court whatsoever.

The team played hard....but Drew basically ******* us in the 1st half. He left Horford on the bench with 2 fouls while Zaza and Thomas took turns stinking it up.

I am not the biggest Zaza supporter.

That being said, I much prefer him to Collins. Collins basically allowed Dwight to back him down and bank the shots off the backboard.

Another thought is that hopefully as the season goes on the bench will be a little less shell-shocked against a good team as they get used to steady minutes during the season.

I thought all the bigs did okay against Dwight. He's hard to handle one on one and I never thought I would be defending Jason Collins, but he did reasonably well. Zaza fouls too quickly on Dwight.

Other comments: Joe had a good game. Josh had a good game, but shot a low percentage and I think that was primarily from having a couple possessions in the 2nd half where he got multiple attempts and nothing went. Props for him for actually staying with a perimeter defensive assignment for a change. Al scored, but didn't get many rebounds.

Collins was garbage against Dwight! I gotta give props to Zaza though, he makes Dwight work harder for shots.

Good try. You know you want to face Zaza in the game instead for Orlando's benefit.
