LaMar Odom Allstar ?

Post#1 » by Waderr » Mon Nov 8, 2010 10:07 pm

I have never been so impressed with Lamar. He is matured to a player that I thought would never be, consistent. This guy is a freak on offense or defense. I think his marriage has helped him mature to be a great player and man. I want to say thanks you Lamar.

he won't keep up the stats when bynum comes back. same thing happened last yr when drew was putting up 20/10 while pau was out.

The difference is LO is use to coming off the bench & understands his role as long as he doesnt pout about it. Drew had to figure out how to fit as the second option where he had been the only option for the first 15 games

LO is not going to start and I think Phil made that clear.

Drew cannot sit for 10 mins at a time once he's warmed up because of his knee, so he'll have to start and get minutes constantly.

Lamar's numbers will fall off once he returns to the bench. I'm not sure how much those numbers will fall off by the time the All Star Game comes around. I don't know if its a mental thing or if its because of the simple fact that he is playing alongside Derek/Kobe/Artest/Gasol that Lamar plays much better as a starter. You would think he would have performed better off the bench because he is had a bigger responsibility as the leader of the 2nd unit as opposed to playing alongside the starters where he becomes a 3rd option.

The more and more I think about it I get the feeling it had to do with who he was surrounded by when he ran with that 2nd unit in the past 2 seasons. Now the bench has a completely new look and is actually capable of holding on to leads and at times increasing them. This season Lamar Odom has an opportunity to be the leader of one of the best benches in the NBA. If there is one guy on this team that I would like for more than anyone else to win an individual award it is Lamar Odom. As Laker fans we all know how Lamar Odom is capable of playing as a full time starter but he has been asked to take a lesser role during our championship runs. I think if he won the 6th Man of the Year award it would be very special for Lamar. It would symbolize the self sacrifice he has made for this team.

thats not really the point. the minutes and opportunity just aren't going to be the same. he's playing 35mpg, he'll be down to the high twenties at best when drew is back.
