I like Knight's defensive potential. He is big enough to guard 2's, and I think will cause mismatches against 1's... and unlike the other Calipari products in Wall, Tyreke, and Rose, Brandon can really shoot the ball. I think a backcourt with DeMar and Knight really has a high ceiling. He seems like a better passing version of Gilbert Arenas.

By the way, Texas plays Navy tonight... look for Cory Joseph and Tristan Thompson to make their debut.

Kyrie Irving news update:

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/5061 ... ion-opener
In his first game as a Devil, Kyrie Irving showed the world what everyone inside of Duke have been raving about. He went 6-for-9 from the field and scored 17. His most impressive stat was that he had seven assists with only one turnover—impressive for someone making their debut.

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/5113 ... ing-champs

Freshman standout Kyrie Irving had a very solid night in only his second game for the Devils.

He matched Singler with 28 minutes and had arguably the best night of any Blue Devil. He scored 13 points, had five assists, and zero turnovers.

So far this year he has shown glimpses of brilliance and will be a bright spot for the year to come. Irving is for real! He is everything Coach K promised and is looking to have a huge year.

Looks like Irving has been pretty impressive in the 2 exhibition games so far, he's looking to dish out to his teammates and at the same time has pretty low tunrover rate.

I'm going to have to wait on Barnes. But As of now I think Irving is ahead of him in my books.

I'm not going to jump the gun though and say he is equal to Marvin Williams though. So far he looks better then Marv. Good news is we get a full year to evaluate him in college, unlike how Atlanta had to grab Marv right out of HS.

Marvin played just one season at UNC, just like Barnes will.

I don't know what it is about Barnes... I get the feeling he'll end up like a Luol Deng, Andre Iguodala type of player, who themselves are both solid players, but to me it seems they just don't seem to impact the game in the same way as a potential elite PG prospect like Irving, Knight, or Selby could. Watching our team it's clear that we lack the high level playmaking that one of those PGs could bring... it just seems like the perfect type of fit...but then at the same time we can't fall into the trap of needs based drafting :dontknow:

Hopefully we'll get a clearer idea after watching these guys in action.

barnes' shooting mechanics at his size and skill level are going to make him an impact player from day one. he should develop into one of the elite shooters of the nba. pretty cool that we'll have a shot to land him.

Draft Express's mock has Jan Vesely, Jonas Valunciunas, Enes Kanter, and Donatus at 4-7. It would be hilarious if the Raps missed out on the first three picks got the fourth one and these guys were the consensus next picks. The board would blow up.

The thing is draftexpress really doesn't manipulating their draft board until later into the NCAA schedule. So players are likely to shift, though Enes Kanter is actually very good.

Darth, I've noticed you pimping Donut and i'm trying to figure out if you're joking or not. If you're serious boy, you do not have an eye for talent. What's even funnier is you have seen the prototype for the last 4 years and he looks more like a 6th man than someone that should go very high in a draft.

Donut will be bench player in the NBA mark my words. Tall guys that can't rebound or defend and only play on one side of the court are called 6th men/bench bigs.

Honestly, this type of player is better off in Europe unless they bring the toughness and willingness to address those weaknesses like a guy like Dirk.
