Apparently Wakamatsu isn't quite locked in. We're losing him if the Mets end up choosing him as their mananger.

Hoopstarr,
Is that quote recent? I know Murphy made those types of comments earlier in the year, but if that is his current view that would scare me for two reasons: (a) he won't buy into the OBA philosophy (b) it almost sounds like insubordination after Farrell made his comments about wanting to increase OBA.

i saw that as well! Kind of awkward if he gets the Mets job lol. looking forward to having him on board.. but i have a feeling that he might not stick around for too long, as teams may covet his managerial services

Yea sorry, I should've linked it - http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news?slug=t ... runs052610
It's from late May but still relevant unless he completely flip-flopped. Again, I'm confident Alex did his homework and he won't be bringing in low OBP hitters for Murphy to coach so it won't be an issue.

@KenDavidoff: The #BlueJays have hired highly regarded scout Russ Bove, whom the #Mets didn't renew last week.

So Wakamatsu is still interviewing for the Met's manager position (as per the Slam Sports article)? If so, he can leave if he get's the job? Weird. Thought he would at least conclude the interview before committing to the Jays.

This is the type of coaching staff dynasties are made of.
