To LAL: Reggie Evans
To TOR: Sasha Vujacic+2011 1st

We move our productive expiring for LA's non-productive expiring and another 1st rounder. Opens up more minutes for our young bigs (especially with Ed coming back soon). We might get interest in Sasha from teams trying to shed salary at the deadline as well.

We'd have our own pick, and two (likely) late 1st's in the upcoming draft. We could use the later picks to move up or in other trades. If we really get lucky we might end up getting Barnes/Jones with our own pick, and Cory Joseph+Jeremy Tyler with the later picks.

CoJo/Jack?/Jose?
DD/Barbosa?/Weems?
Barnes/Kleiza
ED/Amir
Bargs/Tyler/Alabi

Well yeah, I'd trade Reggie Evans for any ending contract and a first rounder. Especially if we followed up by signing Dampier.

Trade with Dallas:

TPE for Tyson Chandler
Reggie Evans for DeShawn Stevenson (waived), and pick or cash considerations

Then re-sign Chandler in the off-season to come off the bench, leaving us with a big man rotation of:

Davis/Amir
Bargnani/Chandler/Alabi

If Detroit and Atlanta end up doing this rumoured Prince for Crawford+Teague deal, maybe the Haws would be open to acquiring Jose?

Marvin Williams for Jose

After giving up their only other PG options in Crawford and Teague, the Hawks get Jose to play behind Bibby. His deal runs one year shorter than Marvin's (assuming Marvin picks up his last year player option).

The Raps get a 24-year old SF that plays solid defense, putting up 11/6. Also makes room for a starting PG upgrade this upcoming offseason, while freeing up ~1.7 million in capspace for the summer. Maybe we get Irving/Knight/Selby with our pick, and Jeremy Tyler with Miami's.

Irving? / Jack
DD / Barbosa? / Weems?
Marvin / Kleiza
Davis / Amir
Bargs / Tyler? / Alabi

Any interest?

I use to be really high on Butler when he was with Wsh, not sure why he's fallen so far. IMO he was close to being an all star level wing player. His 3 pt range isnt there and even in 09, he was only getting to the line 6 times a game but strong rebounding numbers. He and Kleiza would be a nice 1 / 2 at the SF

Haywood would be a good shot blocking C with an attitude, but he's signed for 6 years so you'd have to be pretty damn sure he could be a starting C for at least a few years. Maybe a good option while the Raps wait on Alabi

I could see them having interest in Barbosa at the deadline, plus MIA pick, big?

What about Bargs for Thabeet+Henry?

Memphis gets a scoring 4/5 who can play with either Gasol/Randolph this season, and is a cheaper option than Randolph if they feel it's not worth overpaying to keep him longterm... all at the expense of their young lotto picks in Henry/Thabeet. Both have solid upside, but will likely remain on the 2nd unit because of more established starters (Gasol, Mayo/Gay) playing in front of them. Bargs+Gasol could be a solid frontcourt combo, and if they drop Randolph it will be easier to re-sign Mayo later.

Thabeet/Andersen/Alabi
Davis/Amir/Dorsey
Henry/Kleiza
DD/Barbosa
Jack/Jose

It will continue to be a rough year for us, but we have a lot of young talent on the team and hopefully we can land an elite PG prospect in the draft (Irving? Knight? Selby?). We'd lose Bargs' scoring, but I think we improve our interior D and rebounding with Thabeet longterm. A guy like Henry could be a solid contributor for us on the wings, has great length and can shoot the ball well.

^^ not interested in reacquiring Bosh, I'm liking the way the direction the team is headed in now rebuilding with youth, buying into the coach's new system, playing more aggressively and staying close in games without any real star talent (and also en route to what looks to be a high pick in this draft). Not interested in going back to being a treadmill team with little ability to improve our outlook longterm, and having Bosh's max deal messing up our cap. We've already tried having him as the centrepiece of our team, it didn't work. Now if we're making this a three team deal where we pick up young prospects/picks, I'd be fine with that.... although I'm not sure if any team would give up a whole lot for Bosh given his current production and big contract heading into the new CBA.

Bosh can not be traded to the Raptors according to the CBA. Horrible idea anyway.

whats the rule... theres a time limit?

btw, when you said its a horrible idea?
do you think its bad for the Raptors or the Heat?

From a basketball standpoint I think its good for both teams.

Bargnani is a worse fit than Bosh in Miami anyway.. they need a physical big... not a 7 foot 250 lb fairy.

I would be very interested in Haywood. Any idea what Dallas is looking for?

Toronto trades: Jarret Jack & David Andersen
Sac trades: F Garcia and J Thompson

Seems like Sac wants another PG (like Teague), they can get Jack, who can provide leadership. Heard Sac also wants to trade F Garcia and Thompson, which the Raps can use at the SF and C spot.

I wonder what it would take to get Johnny Flynn?

Colangelo said he really liked him during the 2009 Draft.....

With Rubio coming over next year and Ridnour and Telfair already on board Minny is probably
open to trading him.

I'd flip them Kleiza or Barbosa

I think Calderon is what they need, control tempo and share the ball.
However, we might need to take back bad contract, which they don't have at the moment.

And I would keep Jack and look for better options.

Until Rubio is signed, I don't think Mini is in a hurry to get ride of their future point guard.

I'm not sure if there will be a spot left for Flynn. Telfair is playing well and running the offense better than Flynn, who struggled in the triangle offense. I actually wouldn't mind grabbing Telfair if they decide to move him once they have Flynn and Ridnour back.

I'm not sure why everyone thinks that Rubio is going to be coming next year. In that article that came out all it said was that Minnesota had every intention to sign Rubio and hopefully for next year and they are not going to trade him to NY. No where did it say that Rubio has those same intentions.

I'd do a Barbosa for Haywood and right to switch Miami pick with Dallas pick.

Return to Toronto Raptors
