Surprised to see Harris clear waivers. What's the most likely reason? Salary? Age/Injury/Suckyness?

It would have cost about $1.3 million in salary to claim him, not much in the big picture of things in the NFL. But roster spots are important, especially this time of the year. Every team has guys banged up and you can't bring in a guy until you're sure he can contribute. Teams will want to see him workout before signing him.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I think the #1 reason is because teams would want to have their doctors work him out rather than claim him.

There isn't any game tape on him since last November so no one other than the Packers really knows what sort of condition he is in.

Glad he didn't end up with the Lions or Viqueens who also showed interest in him. Wish him the best now.

Woot, I'm glad he's in the AFC so I don't have to root against him.

Good stuff. I wasn't really nervous about having him matched up with a Jones or Nelson, but it would have sucked just to see him on a hated rival. Hope he proves TT, MM, and DC wrong.

Even if Harris plays well that doesn't prove TT, MM and DC wrong. He would have to play significantly better than Shields and Tramon to prove them wrong, if he plays at their level or even slightly above then they made the right choice by going with the guys already contributing that are also younger and cheaper(for now, Tramon will almost definitely get a nice pay bump). I also find it funny how yet again some fans are taking the side of the player and choosing to hate on the coaches and GM. I love players just as much as the next guy but when someone is 36 and coming off of an injury that destroyed his knee there comes a time to just move on.

Think TN will try to get Harris to cover Moss on Sunday?

agreed, but another way TT and MM and DC would be proved wrong is if 1 or 2 of our corners end up missing games for injury etc.

So they are supposed to be soothsayers and know whether someone is going to go down with an injury or not? I know the TT haters will be quick to bash him if Woodson, Tramon or Shields goes down with an injury and our secondary play starts to slip but anyone with the ability to think rationally with understand that there is no way they can predict that.

It was in both the best interest of Al Harris and the Packers for them to part ways, there is just no way around that.
