This game will come down to defending the Blazers backcourt. They should put Rodney Stuckey on Brandon Roy instead of Richard Hamilton. If Stuckey can defend Roy, then this game could be won by the Pistons. That's just my take on it.

Their lineup is pretty similar to us. Miller = strong PG who can't shoot. Batum is pretty much always compared to Prince. Aldridge = soft jumpshooting PF. Camby = defensive C that doesn't do much else. We actually match up pretty well against them, but the Blazers are just the way better team.

We keep it close, but lose by 8-12

This game does have some interesting matchups. Prince and Batum should be fun. Aldridge should be able to dominate either Daye or Chuck. Roy could be the difference maker...if we can slow him we have a shot. If Brandon is doing what he wants we be screwed

Im looking forward to this though

Why Stuckey on Roy? Hamilton is a top league defending guard. He has proved it more than enough and I don't see him any different than before on defense. I say Aldridge will destroy us and will get everything he wants. You need a strong and long PF to stop him. Rasheed fits the bill but he's not here so... We're screwed. I say we lose by a blow out.

Rip is getting old. He can defend Andre Miller when he try to post. Stuckey is considered the best defender on the team (not by me), so he should take on the task of the opponent's best scorer. Besides, when BG or Bynum come in, Stuckey will be switched to Roy, so why not start him out on him. That's why.

Rip is a top defender? What?? I mean he isn't awful or anything and he does try but come on...he is hardly a top defending guard

Whose better? Rip stop Reggie Miller, Kobe, Wade, and Allen. There are only a handful that are better than him at defense as a SG.

Rip isn't a bad defender, I think he was top ten when he was in his prime for SG's though. Anyone will have trouble with Roy though. Just hope for the best lol.

Rip used to be a solid 2-way player, but he's definitely not one of the top defenders in the game and most of those guys you mentioned gave us fits. Hell, Wade absolutely destroyed us. And our defensive success from '04-'06 had more to do with having Prince/Ben/Sheed up front.

Anyway, there was a report the other day that Roy may be injured. It was just speculation on Artests part though, so who knows. Either way this will be a tough road game for us.

Maybe we should get zach randolph just so we don't have to see austin daye start at PF and get continually pounded in the paint and on the boards every second hes out there.

Let's hope Artest was on to something, because we could be in for a long night.

^^ Yeah, i was thinking that too.

Even though the blazers are 5-3 i don't think they have played all that great. i could see the pistons stealing this one. my biggest concern is getting off to a slow start which we seem to do quite a bit mainly because rip has been so ice cold for most of the season.

Hopefuly RIP goes off for 30/6/5. I know it sucks for Gordon and we all want to see him but RIP needs to up his value. I'm sure he wants out just as bad as we want him gone.

you're guys are acting like Rip is going. I really don't think he is. I think our hope to move him is now big enough to believe he is moving. Unless there is an injury in some other contender's guard, I don't think Rip is going anywhere.

The Blazers are going to try and beat us up in the paint. Their bigs will start the game, then it will be the guards in the lane. I think Austin Daye will be on the bench by the 6-minute mark of the 1st quarter. They look a lot like Boston offensively. We need big games from Gordon and Stuckey to win this one. It wouldn't hurt for Charlie to have his best game, either. All together, I think too much has to go the Pistons way for this to work. The Blazers win by 8.
