Phill and Fisher and Walton
Why dose he insist on playing these 2 bums so much the Lakers are always in close games when ever he over plays Fisher ie anything over 10 mins. Am i the only one thinking phill is trying to lose games for LA or is he just betting VS the lakers and needs to keep the games close so Lakers dont cover the spread.

I think Phil knows what he's doing since he keeps bringing us the Gold.

Ooooh you mean like when he thanked fisher for getting himself suspended in 09 vs the Rockets saying if he wouldn't have done that he would of kept playing Fisher even though we all know he was and still is totally worthless and the reason we lost the 3 games we did?

Fisher has been instrumental in our last 2 championships. Try to argue against that. You can't.

Yes i can the guy could not defend my grandma much less an NBA player he took the 3rd most shots even though he was one of our worst offensive player and no shotting game winners all of 2 of them the past 3 years dosnt make up for it cuz he is the reason the Lakers was down in the first place.

Yup. Phil does **** that looks crazy but we won the title that year and Fish was very, very clutch in those Finals.

Don't pull stuff out of your ass here, Fisher held Deron and Nash below their season averages last year in the playoffs. He was suspect against Westbrook but so is any PG at that age, even Billups is terrible against quick PGs.

First off, his name is Phil Jackson, not Phill Jackson. Secondly, you have no idea what you're talking about when you call Fisher a bum. Thirdly, I would rather have Caracter and Ebanks out there than Walton, but Phil knows what he's doing.
People don't appreciate Fisher for what he brings to the team. All they look at are stats.

Re: Phill and Fisher and Walton
omg someone's calling Derek Fisher a bum? Derek Fisher?? The guy who the same as Kobe has 5 rings?? He? a bum?? LMAO does he even know his thing? I mean the guy who posted Fisher's a bum? Would you like Steve Nash then instead of Derek Fisher? I know Steve is a lot better.. 2 time MVP and so.. but you cannot call Derek Fisher a bum. Fisher's a great guard, very clutch, as clutch as Kobe I'd say (remember the win over San Antonio with .4 secs left? and many other games when Fisher is integral for a turnaround). Fisher is key for Lakers' gold mate.

Phil is a hall of famer and owns 11 rings. I think he knows what he is doing. For anyone to say he is betting on his team or against his team or trying to keep the spread is just a wanna be fan. Those are nice words.

Walton is just horrible, but I can see Phil wanting to give him some minutes against lesser teams. So far not so good.

Thanks, that bothered me, too.
And the "covering the spread" comment pretty much eliminated his credibility.

Re: Phill and Fisher and Walton
there's no way lakers woulda won on the road in boston if it werent for fisher...and u probably don't remember who hit that big shot in game 7. you're using the rockets series to prove your point...but when you have an aging point guard against one of the fastest point guards in the game, you can't honestly put the blame on fisher. i didnt see farmar doing any better

Re: Phill and Fisher and Walton
Ever heard of intangibles? Fisher's game is built upon a rock solid foundation of "INTANGIBLES" you can't teach that. Its just pure BBall smarts, heart and hustle. Yeah, Walton has a a bit of that. So much so that if the Lakers were ever to cut him loose. Walton would find a place on solid NBA team pretty quickly. Other NBA teams alot of times scramble to grab Ex-Lakers.

Re: Phill and Fisher and Walton
Fish mins. are actually starting to be reduced, not sure if thats because of the blow outs or by design as well. However I dont get is Walton getting PT over the rook, what is the point of Walton playing? He's not going to get better, he's not even facilatating he just stands at the 3pt line trying to be a spot up shooter which he is horrible at. At least Ebanks attacks the basket, something Walton has an allergic reaction too

Hasn't it crossed your mind that its his 2nd game after coming back from a long absence and trying to fit in with a bunch of guys that are entirely new to the system?
Have some freaking patience man, there's a reason the season is 82 games long.

Re: Phill and Fisher and Walton
I agree we should give the extra minutes to ebanks. I think phil is just giving walton a chance, it is obvious we don't need him now. but he'll be a good 3rd/ 4th backup SF if either artest or barnes goes down; he knows the system.

they're veterans that he trusts.
i actually dont mind fisher playing..... just don't drive to the basket....
walton opens up passing lanes.
they're 2 guys that are veterans and know their role.

VS Houston Fisher Shooting 1-7 stat -8 Killer B's Blake +13 Brown +8 Barnes +8
VS Suns Fisher -2 KIller B's Blake +10 Barnes + 5 Brown 4
VS Warrors who didnt have a great game that game
VS Mem Everyone had a good game
VS Queens Finally Fisher has a great game where the Killer B's dont
VS Raptors Fisher good shooting night 4-7 but was -2 Only Killer B in - was Brown at -2 But Blake +7 and Barness at + 3
VS Blazers Just a blow out everyone had a good game
VS Timberwolves FIsher over 13 mins over any Killer B's and what do we get FIsher 1-6 with a -1 Barness +8 Brown +4 Blake + 6
By the numbers Fisher got out played by the Killer B's in games where he had Neg numbers in 4 3 games where everyone had great games 1 Game where Fisher out played any of the Killer B's where the Killer B's had neg stats.
For those saying we wouldn't have won without Fisher the past 2 year we won in spite of Fisher. He had 1 good game in both years and all of a sud-dent we won it cuz of him? give me a break. Outside of those 2 games he was pretty much worthless cuz of his D and his O dose not make up for it cuz Brown shot close to what Fisher did with a lot better D @ 45% Fisher @ 41%.
Game 1 vs C's Fisher 3-8 Brown 3-5
Game 2 Fisher 2-8 Brown 0- 2
Game 3 Fisher 6 - 12 Brown 2-3
Game 4 Fisher 3 - 6 Brown 2 - 5
