Owners opt out of Labor Deal...

Post#1 » by CjayC » Tue May 20, 2008 8:28 pm

What this means is that there will be no more Salary Cap.

On one hand that wouldn't be many problems to teams like Chicago, the New York Teams,Dallas, and Washington.

But smaller Market teams like Jacksonville,Kansas City,Green Bay will not be able to compete anymore.

It'll be like Baseball with the best players going to the big money teams(Yankees,Mets,Cubs),and the smaller teams dwindling in Mediocrity.

I'm not a big fan of this,as a Football fan,but this shouldn't effect the Bears much.Probably would be even slightly better for us

I think its great news for Chicago! Our city has been oppressed by these other sports constraints, our time needs to be near if not now.

Do you think the McCaskey's are going to spend money?
I sure hope they sell.

This definitely isn't good for the NFL, but it definitely doesn't affect the Bears as greatly as some of the teams you've mentioned above. If this doesn't get resolved, aside from the work stoppage obviously, football heads down the baseball road. And being a fan of a small market baseball team, it really does suck.
