Hillthon Armwrong is Suck

That is all not sure if he has his own thread already, but this needed to be said. It is ten times more frustrating and glaring watching live his crap.

His career PER is 9.6 -- this season, 2.8. His turnover rate is 42.6 -- in other words, 4 of every 10 possessions he uses are turnovers. His ortg (points produced per 100 individual possessions) is 69. Scary thing, in 9 games with Houston last season, he was even worse.

I think these stats are reason enough to fire Grunfeld? Also you can't tell me N'Diaye or Seraphin are not already better than him right now. I can't believe some drafted in the NBA can be worse than that....

I think most of us were aware of this when we signed him. He is not a good NBA player.

Seriously, why can't we just release him?

I don't think you should fire a GM over a minimum level signing. Now if Seraphin is not taking minutes from Armstrong at the end of the season, the argument to fire EG is a lot stronger.

What's weird is Flip seemed to be so enamored with Hilton during training camp and the pre-season. He talked of him being the best big man in camp. I don't get Flip's communication to his players through media. I can't tell if he's trying to motivate more talented players or if he's trying to buoy confidence in career under-achievers knowing full well that he has to rely on them until the rook bigs get more experience (Ndiaye and Seraphin) and rust shakes off from prolonged abscence from the game (Gil).

Another story came out a few days later that may help explain Flip's comment that Armstrong had been the team's best big in camp. Apparently Armstrong has a confidence issue (maybe he's accurately assessed his abilities? -- was too snarky?). The feeling was that Armstrong's lack of confidence was undermining his ability to perform his best -- something that Armstrong apparently agrees with himself. Anyway, Flip and the coaches apparently have been trying to encourage Armstrong, to praise him, and to let him play through mistakes in the hopes that he can regain some confidence. Honestly, I'd rather they try that with a more talented player.

That makes sense. I do recall reading about his lack of confidence. I agree that I'd like to see it done with a more talented player. Here's hoping that one of Seraphin or Ndiaye develop enough over the course of the season that they can match whatever Hilton brings with a lot more upside.

Too bad the minimum level signing guy was expected to contribute a decent amount. It's terrible managing by Ernie to sign this guy as a prominent rotation player.

Ernie signs but Flips decides the rotation. Had Ernie signed/drafted someone worthy of being ahead of Hilty, perhaps that person would be playing now. OTHO, It wouldn't surprise me to find out that Seraphin and Hamady both are better than Neck, but just can't get off the bench.

At least we didn't waste a #5 pick on this one. Though we did lose Singleton, which is unfortunate.

Flip playing Hilton so much just proves again he's clueless. Let's give ET a chance to see if he can coach at the NBA level.

Is this thread sponsored by Dumb and Dumber? Wake me up if Armstrong is still playing 10 minutes a game at the end of the month.
