Lets pretend that

Post#1 » by teamsteven01 » Wed Nov 10, 2010 5:43 pm

Lets pretend that Kobe suffers a season ending injury (preferably a life ending injury) who becomes the new favorites from the West?

This is a totally plausible situation.

If its not Kobe, maybe Pau breaks one of his skinny legs, or Lamar's wife eats him.

Pending the match up, the Suns have a shot, I believe.

If aliens abducted every single NBA team except for the Suns and the Timberwolves, the Suns would have a great shot at the title.

If only one of the 3 disasters you mentioned happens the Lakers still have us beat. If the Lakers were out of the race I think the best team in the West would be whoever lost to the Heat.

I understand where your coming from Miklo, but Bynum is hurt 99% of the time either way; add one of those other 'disasters' where the lose either Kobe/Pau/Odom for a long enough time to a serious enough injury, and boom, the west is wide open.

I completely disagree with the fact that whoever wins the west is gonna lose to the Heat. The Heat have been portrayed as the best and people want to hand them everything already, but I've watched several games and they're far far away from what they could be. Their offense isn't as smooth as expected, Bosh feels left out, and the size problem up front is going to haunt them no matter what. You can't seriously say the Heat are guaranteed anything after watching that Utah game last night. They let Paul Millsap take 3 wide open 3 pointers and he sank every single one without touching anything but net, and there was not a defender near him all 3 times, which is the only reason the game went to OT and ended up with a loss for them. They believe their the best, but they definitely have yet to prove it with their play.

I'll hold on till I pass such a judgment.

Yeah I'll admit my post was a bit cynical...to be honest I agree with you on both counts, I just didn't take the topic too seriously since it said "preferably life ending"

On second thought for the Lakers it depends. Pau being out would be IMO the most beneficial to us, Kobe second and Lamar, he kills us but I don't think we become the better team without him.

Ok, lets just pretend that Kobe loses his schlong in an unfortunate smelting accident.

Celtics or Heat win the title.

Will we have any All-star players on our team this year .............................................., and if not, what are the chances Al Qaeda rams a 787 or two into the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, California during said All-star game ????

Suns win? :-?

How would that work? Wouldn't we need an Eastern team to play? And would we get an asterisk next to the title? :(

Anyways, it won't be the Suns. I believe the Spurs could do some damage.
