I remember it very fondly... At the time it made such a difference as well, the quality of available streams was usually quite horrible and most of the games were with a chinese commentary, and a lot of the times there were no streams at all.
So that access made a world of difference for me that season :)

Just one of the many reasons I love this board :)

Another super lurker here...

chronic Carpal Tunnal issues prevent me from posting too often, but I concur that there are some great posters and great writers here on this msg board...and am very glad that we are finished with all the KFB posts and now focused on a legit #1 pick who is somehow playing for Lez Boulez...

...the first time i watched the Bullets would have been in ?79? when they lost to the Sonics in the finals, and i remember being all p*ssed off after seeing a shot of the Sonics locker room with all the Champagne ready before the game even ended. I revisited the Bullets again in the mid 80s following Purvis Ellison, Bernard King and John "Hot Plate" Williams among others.

I really believe that we are one good all around player--preferably SG or Center/PF--from serious playoff contention within the next 3 years...I sure hope it happens, b/c I have been waiting a long time to watch the Bullets play in June!!!

I've been mostly gone for about three years. Things happen ... we"ll just leave it at that (although who saw a self-effacing SD20 coming?).

BTW, to those of you who are emplyed a special thanks. The first Social Security check comes this month. That'll teach you to vote Democrat.

love it. same as ever.

i feel like the circle is complete now. not too many '01'ers rolling around here anymore. greendale scabs and jro all were back with me on the espn boards in '00 or '99 even. man.

i have gray in my beard.

Speaking of the old ESPN boards, just wanted to channel MARCOPOLO for a bit:

WHORELANDO TRAGIC
WHORELANDO TRAGIC
WHORELANDO TRAGIC
WHORELANDO TRAGIC
SOMETHING ABOUT A BEAGLE
bwahahahahah
L.A. SPARXX 118, WHORELANDO 12
BARBARA BUSH LOOK BETTER THAN THE TRAGIC

I don't know what the city of Orlando ever did to that dude. But he was probably the worst troll in the history of the internet. And he hated the Magic.

Nice to see Greendale still around. Don't get too comfortable with that Social Security check though. It's only a matter of time until the government defaults. (The default will take the form of inflation, a refusal to pay bond debt, or a collapse of entitlements, or some combination of the three.)

Is it safe yet?

THB, not even much of a lurker any more, but to see this thread on page 14 made me think back...

So BUMP!

Back to the ESPN days, before I was married, moved twice, countless jobs, etc...

I almost made a special 4 hour trip to that happy hour just to buy Moto a drink. Oh well.

Go Wiz.

I've liked the Bullets since the late 70s & became a big fan in the 80's as a teenager when they had Bernard King, Moses & Jeff Malone... then John Williams, Rex Chapman, Googs.. CWeb, and so on.

I used to post alot back in the day in the ESPN board as SUPERBALLMAN. I used to post more recently on WPost as Darnell, then they did something to their site that didn't seem to jive with my computer, so I came back here. Anyway, I love it here... lots of topics, and good insightful fans I like reading & respect. Thanks.

What the heck. I was looking for the second coming of SD20 after talking about the subject of banning. I see that his other screen name here was banned by looking at his profile in this thread.

<sigh>

Wasn't me who asked for his new s/n to be banned. But I have some really fond memories of SD20 arguing with lots of you'all about him being a dentist and you guys, well, not being one.

Good times.

Old user in Realgm terms, I used to post as GilArenas88; I've been posting since circa late 2003/early 2004.

I do more reading of the boards than posting as of lately -but I guess I've always kind of been like that- but will probably be a quiet a bit more active this upcoming off-season and season.

Been lurking for about a year or so. But I'm still here...and still disgusted with EG. Smh. Sign me up for Terrance Ross if anyone was wondering...

Full time lurker, especially come draft time. I don't think I've missed a post in the 3 or 4 draft threads. I started lurking back in my high school days (graduated '02), then I used to post quite a bit but cooled off big time about a year ago when I got hired as a full time minister. Fulfilling as all get out but a 24-7 commitment.

I've unfortunately got plenty of UNC fans as friends, so I'll be contacting them to talk me off the ledge and counter balance the gnashing of teeth I will experience at this site if/when Barnes is the pick.

Listening to UNC fans, many might actually push you off that ledge concerning Barnes.

Nice to see this thread back up top. I wandered over here, following BarelyAwake from an old board, think it was the ESPN board. Did we not get a BA sighting a month or so ago on the board?

I tend to post in spurts. Been less frequent, and frequently snarky the past couple of years. That unfortunately echo's my general opinion of Wizards basketball. But I still lurk often, and still watch most of the games. Last couple years my interest in the Wizards have waned pre-All Star Break, and I find watching more of what NBA TV or the networks will serve up.

Since we are talking about getting old, I quote from a classic:

"Old and in the way
That's what I heard him say
They used to heed the words he said
But that was yesterday
Coal will turn to gray
And youth will fade away
They'll never care about you
Cause you're old and in the way. . ."
