NCAA Week 11

Post#1 » by chuckleslove » Thu Nov 11, 2010 8:38 pm

Nice break down of what we want as Badgers fans so figured I'd get this thread started a little early:

I still hate the stinkin' BCS. We need Oregon, Auburn, Boise, TCU, LSU and Stanford to lose. And even then Nebraska, Ohio State, Oklahoma State or Michigan State could still jump over us.

PLAYOFFS, WE NEED PLAYOFFS.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Probably 3 weeks away from knowing who the new Minnesota coach will be! Yay!

The BCS is unbelievably stupid, I try to not think about it. I'm just focused on the Badgers winning out. I know they need help from other teams but if they win out and finish 11-1, I can't ask for anything more as a fan.

It's not the coach, it's the players :)

Center Peter Konz (ankle) is out and Bill Nagy will start in his place.

Montee Ball and James White will handle the load at tailback. John Clay (knee) will be a game-time decision it appears he will get the week off.

"Don't know if he'll get out there," Bielema said.

Tight end Lance Kendricks (ankle), who was limited to passing situations at Purdue, should return to his normal full-time role this week.

Reserve defensive end David Gilbert (concussion) has been cleared to play.

Offensive tackle Josh Oglesby (left knee) recently had surgery and unfortunately for Oglesby the doctors need to repair his ACL. It is unclea whether he will be ready to participate in spring practice.

Quarterback Curt Phillips (knee) who has not played this season, recently suffered a setback while running the scout team.

Bielema wouldn't comment on what that means for Phillips' future but at a minimum it appears the redshirt sophomore will be shut down for the remainder of the season.

Freshman Konrad Zagzebski, who signed as a linebacker but has been moved to defensive line, recently underwent shoulder surgery.

I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

My god Boise is going to smoke Idaho by 90 or 100 if they were to keep their foot on the gas the whole way.

Boise and TCU are the two best teams in the nation. I feel pretty confident in saying that.

I don't think I can confidently say that Boise and TCU are better than Auburn and Oregon.

What a great 4 team playoff that would be.

Yep, I have a hard time saying any of those 4 teams are better than the other. If only we had a playoff to determine it.

I still think Auburn is going to lose. Then, Oregon will win the title by a small margin and Boise will lose the Rose Bowl or wherever they go by 3 and the BCS will be able to claim they got things right and not face any heat this year. I essentially just love to see controversy.

Minnesota only has 5 active offensive lineman, a back up TE is backing up every spot on the o-line. That being said they are looking good. Tied 7-7 and the offense is driving. Would love to see the Gophers get 1 conference win, might help the coaching search.

Gophers up 17-7 at half! Ron Zook's seat getting a little warmer on this cold day.

Any teams in the Top 10 have any chance of losing this week? I only really see PSU and OSU as the only competitive game, though I just glanced at the schedule.

While anything is possible I see it unlikely.

OSU plays PSU who is having somewhat of a down year but I never count them out.

Oregon is on the road which is always a possibility, same with Stanford.

Stanford losing would be the biggest one of us since they are another 1 loss team competing for an at large BCS potentially and if Arizona St. beats them it will help our computer rankings.

My Gophers put up a hell of a fight but it looks like it's done. :(

EDIT: As they return it to the 2 yard line on the KR :)
