There's probably a clause in his contract or the Jays have agreed in principal that he's free to interview for a manager position. No biggie.

He was in consideration for the Mets job before he was announced as our bench coach. Basically; he has an out that if he does indeed get selected by the Mets then he obviously wont be coming to Toronto. In that scenario Lovullo moves to the bench spot and Luis Rivera gets named the 1B coach.

The Mariners were horrible last year. I know their offense sucked, but he was their manager. Is there any particular reason hes being considered for all these managing jobs? Usually these guys take a bench role for a couple of years before they try again, but hes right in the thick of things. Is he a hotshot prospect?

He doesn't seem to be getting a second interview with the Mets. Sounds like he's going to stay with the Jays.

Return to Toronto Blue Jays
