Likelihood of Deron Williams leaving the Jazz
I'm just starting to love the Jazz and I would be REALLY sad if he left this team after this year. What do you guys think are the chances he leaves this team? 50%? 60%? 30%?

Re: Likelihood of Deron Williams leaving the Jazz
I honestly think that the chances are less than 10%. Deron even said in a recent interview that he thinks it unlikely that he would leave here. As long as we are winning and management is fielding a competitive team, I think Deron will stay here. His kids like the school they go to and he likes the community. I know he spends his off season living else where, but I think that he could be a career player here.

Re: Likelihood of Deron Williams leaving the Jazz
Well the Jazz basically added Al Jefferson, cause he doesn't really replace Boozer as others thought he would. Millsap replaces Boozer, and we already enough guys that could step in and play back up PF in Okur and Kirilenko, not to mention Jefferson now. What's huge though is that we have a guy who upgrades our post offense and defense, while not sacrificing anything. Williams is averaging 22ppg 10apg and 5rpg, he doesn't look unhappy to me. If this team makes the Western Confrence Finals in his last two years, there is no way that he leaves. The team is young, and most importantly it's his. If he leaves for an even more stacked team, not only will the system not benefit him, but he'll get labeled as a ring chaser, and tarnish his legacy.

^Even though he'll be looked down upon doesn't decrease the chances of it happening.. LeBron situation could happen all over again. Players these days are unpredictable.

Unless he has the opportunity to join a super team like the Heat created, I don't see him leaving. He's got a good team around him, he gets to have input on personnel moves, and the core of the team is intact for the next few years.
He'll sign for another 3 years I'd imagine.

Wait, really? Deron has been asked countless times on what he thinks about the big 3 and he says the same thing: He doesn't give a ****. Deron is smart enough not to buy into that.

Re: Likelihood of Deron Williams leaving the Jazz
I think he'd be foolish to leave. There is just too much going right here for him to chance his career on the other side of the fence.
I'd say less than 5% chance.

"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

Re: Likelihood of Deron Williams leaving the Jazz
please don't compare Deron to lebron.
Deron has his head on his shoulders and isn't a prima donna queen that thinks the world revolves around him. Even as a lifelong Kings fan, I hope Deron stays with Utah for the rest of his career and hopefully Sloan can get his first chip as well with Deron, which I think is entirely possible.

I see no reason for Deron to leave Utah. I would say less than 5% chance he does any time soon.

Deron wants to win so he'll be here as long as the Jazz can provide that.
We just got to figure out a way to beat the Lakers.

Not saying to hope for it but every team has injury issues at some point. If Pau goes down the Lakers would have huge issues with Utah's size. Even so Utah has a lot of size making them a danger against any team in the payoffs. Having Deron does not hurt also.

I want to see the new-look Jazz and Lakers face each other at full strength. Jefferson has always excelled vs. Gasol; he's not affected by length like Boozer was. Millsap is short, but again he wasn't ever shut down like Boozer. That, and Big Fes has improved - especially defensively. I think the games will at least be much more competitive this year.

Hmmm. Hard to answer, depends on how the jazz do in the playoffs the next few years. We keep getting first round exits, or keep losing to the lakers, I think the likelyhood he leaves is high. Basically, if the jazz win and make deep playoff runs, I think he'll stay.

Re: Likelihood of Deron Williams leaving the Jazz
He will definitely leave.
ESPN speculated this after Chris Paul started talking about getting traded. He hates Utah, it's just an overgrown hick town of racist polygamists with lots of salt.
He deeply desires to be held in the company of other greats like Lebron and Bosh.
He also absolutely hates Al Jefferson because during the preseason, he struggled to adapt to the offense.

I'm pretty confident in saying he won't leave. Less than 10% is a good evaluation.
He is in a great situation...perfect system for him, great coach, great organization, great team, great fans, great arena, great city and he is getting the recognition he wants. Heck, players are even wanting to come here to play.
Where else is he going to go that is going to be a better situation for him? No where.

You're an absolute dumbass. I hope you're being sarcastic.

Word is, South Beach is ecstatic that they
won't be seeing Millsaps talents again this season...

I will say if Deron left (which I think is highly, highly unlikely), if he went to the Magic I would still root for him a little, just to see him whoop the heat with a real PG / C.
