Favre: I'm Not Coming Back

Post#1 » by Icness » Fri Nov 12, 2010 12:41 pm

Favre told this to NFL Network on Thursday.

I have 3 quick reactions:
1. Way to keep everything about yourself, Brett
2. He must think we're complete suckers
3. I think it just might propel the Vikings to the playoffs, giving them something tangible to play for.

Anyone really believe him?

He's not coming back to the Vikings, so I don't know where else he would go.

I believe him. Hes not good, his team is falling apart, the dick pic scandal, hes about to get suspended, and nobody likes him or cares anymore.

Not going to believe him until it's week 1 and he's down in Mississippi riding his tractor.

I think the only way he comes back is if he continues to have an awful season and he comes back in hopes to not be remembered by an awful last season filled with terrible play and scandals...

Even then I wouldn't put it past him to latch onto some team midseason a la Roger Clemens.

If he would embrace a bench role, I think he could stay on a roster for a few more seasons (Brunell, Brad Johnson, Kitna, etc). I doubt he's willing to do that though.

He'll probably show up for one of the other NFC North teams and then attempt to stick it to the Vikings and Packers.

I honestly don't see him coming back.

Childress is gone at the end of the year (maybe tomorrow?) - Unless Leslie Frazier gets the job - the new coach will not want him more than likely.

Where is he going to go? He's going to want to play on a winner.

I think he's absolutely done. The negative press + his piss poor play, no point anymore.

People seem to try and find excuses to hate on Favre.

He was asked a question, and he answered it? How is that making it about himself? It's not like he held a press conference.

I can absolutely 100% see no team in the nfl wanting him after the past 3 offseasons.

Athletes and coaches are given a chance in every interview to say something that will grab headlines. The majority of those questions get deflected and turned into some cheesy team first comment.

He can come back all he wants now. I don't think Minny will even want him back now.

It's too bad the Vikings won't have the balls to start Jackson over him.
