There was still 1.5 on the clock when Harris shot it...he definitely got fouled and just threw it up

You can't expect to get that call at that time though.

Harris has to learn how to dribble the ball to the middle of the court instead of always going towards the sideline...i mean, yea, the last time vs the sixers it worked..but that was a freakin miracle. Take the ball down the middle and score or dish off to a player. That's what I would have done.

^^ Agree. Being in the middle would give you 3 options, left, middle and right...

Re: Magic @ Nets - 7:00PM
I dont think this was a very good game at all. It was good that with stayed with the Magic, but i'm not sure how we managed to do that cause the team played ****!
Maybe because the Magic are terrible right now, or maybe because Devin carried everyone as far as he could with Outlaw and Lopez chipping in in spots. But this was not a good team performance, we stayed in the game strictly on individuals making plays but none of them played that great, even Harris.
Harris seemed very out of control at times, had trouble getting around the pick and rolls and even got pushed out toward mid court a few times. Had a few bad turnovers, and i thought his dribble was very loose and too high. He did a great job getting into the lane and making those floaters or getting to the ine, but it wasn't a prefect game.
I'm starting to dislike his 3 point shooting, much more then last year. Last year i was ok with him jacking up shots because we had no offense. Now, i dont wanna restrict him from shooting 3s all together, he can shoot 3s if the shot clock is going down, as a heat check after a few made shots, or if the bacl is passed out of the post and around the perimeter and he is the open shooter. But not randomly jack them up with 10-15 secs on the shot clock because you are too lazy to run a good play. Although i dont blame him really, he is making an effort to run plays, and take it inside, attack, but after doing it on 5 straight possessions i can see how he can get frustrated that 1 tall goofball cant set a decent screen or get open in the post, even when he does he jacks up jumpers, another tall goofball cant get around screens to get open, and when he does just jacks up jumpers, so its understandable that Harris is just says screw you, I'm jacking up a jumper, but i wish he didn't.

Honestly the real problem is just the inability of the wings to have a good game at the same time... And I think it comes back to what I was saying on day one. Neither Morrow or Outlaw are threats off the dribble so they both look to spot up and shoot on most offensive possessions, which in turn leaves Devin as the only threat off the dribble and makes the offense too damn predictable.
How about some back-door cuts? Or Outlaw post-ups (okay we actually have seen these a bit more frequently, so I'll let this slide)?
There needs to be more cutting and slashing to the basket. Morrow also needs to spend the offseason wathing someone like Ray Allen or (old) Rip Hamilton because he does a pretty poor job of using screens to create space for himself.

Good post. I hope Avery will add more things to the offense as the season goes on like the backdoor passes. They run Morrow, and more so Outlaw off screen all the time, but it looks like such a tough job for them its painful. I wanna see more backdoor cuts, and more cutting in general. The problem is that this is a team of below average passers.
We have 2 good passers on the team in Harris and Twitt, but even those 2 have their issues. The rest of the team are not even average , they are all literally horrible, maybe Farmar is some what average but Morrow, Outlaw, Lopez might be some of the worst passers at their positions, Humph/Favors cant pass either.

In last night’s 91-90 loss, it was easy to see that the Nets were settling for jumpers against Orlando’s tough interior defense. But one fact you may not know is that the Nets actually only attempted 5 shots at the rim – and didn’t make one.
