Carlos Beltran, Mets: With new GM Sandy Alderson not about to sit tight with the same team that he inherited, at least one of the Mets' big-money players could be on the move, if it can be done. Already, Beltran has said he'd consider waiving his no-trade clause if a team were willing to pick up the $18.5 million he's owed in the final year of his contract. "If they approach me," Beltran said, "I'd have to listen." Could it be David Wright instead? The Mets are a team to watch this winter, regardless.

Could David Wright be moved this offseason?
Want: Trae Young, Michael Porter Jr., DeAndre Ayton, Jaren Jackson Jr, Marvin Bagley III, Mohamad Bamba, Shai Gilgeous- Alexander, Elie Okobo, Jevon Carter

One of our top 4 plus a mid level prospect Jimenez maybe would probably get it done, then just work out a contract over the off season he seams ready to sign just wants that 5th year witch I wouldn't want to give him gaunted but a vesting or mutual option would be fine. If you could swing a deal to get Nunez and Uggla for Marcum/ Accardo/ Jimenez type deal. Worst case scenario he walks you get 2 picks and a young very good reliever.

Esco-SS
Uggla-3B
Bautista-RF
Wells-CF
?????-1B/DH
Lind-1B/DH
Snider-LF
Hill-2B
JPA-C

If we are going after Uggla.
I would want to keep Buck / The rockies catcher we traded for. Because I think it changes the perspective of the team.
Say we use JPA as part of the Uggla deal with a RZEP? then you have a good 4 starting pitching.
Sign Man Ram.
I would also sign Bedard and Harden as low risk / high reward pitchers.
I think that team could easily challenge next year (whether they do or not is a diff story)

I would rather deal Marcum and keep Zep, I really like marcum but I just cant ignore how injury prone that delivery is.

David Wright is a pipe dream, the guy is a great defensive 3B who will not be traded to a on the cusp contender like Toronto unless we seriously overpay and that would be Kyle Dyrbek and JPA or something like that.

I like Alex Gordon a lot from what I seen from him for the Royals when I could tolerate to watch them. He looks like a good hitter with some pop and a solid pro. I wonder what his asking price is? I would say no to Chone Figgins for 2 reasons 1) Overpaid for what he brings and 2) too old right now.

Uggla makes the most sense but hell no would I give up Marcum for him, I know I am going to take flack for this but I see Marcum as a very important piece in our teams pitching core. I mean the guy had a 1 hit 17 strikeout game and one hell of a season and looks like he has a great career ahead of him. Hopefully we can get Uggla on the cheap but that isn't likely going to happen.

It's Morrow not Marcum with the 17 strikeout game. Still, I don't think I move Marcum for Uggla if that's rumoured. I also don't see the Marlins wanting him since they'd want to move him again by the trade deadline anyway. I wouldn't be afraid of dealing a Zep quality arm for Uggla, but the amount and length of an extension for a guy already 30 scares me a bit. I also agree with whoever mentioned that he's not really complementary to the current strengths of the lineup 'cause he brings more of the same.

Also, I think you're right about Wright being a pipedream, but I'm going to say something about it anyway 'cause it's such a nice pipedream. Even if it cost Drabek I'd probably still be interested. At that price the contract is the whole ball of wax and I don't know how many years he's got left but he only earned 10m last year so if it's like that for another 3 years I'd say that's worth it still.

For the most part I'm vehemently against prospects for vets for where this club currently is, but that's a no brainer even with him in a bit of a regression the last while (although he must've had a very strong second half after I looked at his 2010 numbers).

For 25-27 other teams I'd say he's not even remotely available, but the Mets are always incomprehensible under any management, so who knows? Still I'd put the over/under on him even being on the block at less than 5%.
