I thought that technical at the end of the game was really lame. It should have been an and-1 for Lamar, which would have made it potentially a 1-point game. No one wants to see games decided by a damn technical FT or the refs incompetence, especially on our floor. That's just pathetic.

Having said that, the Suns were on fire anyway so they deserved the win. That was a ridiculous display of shooting.

And I think it's official -- we have the worst defensive backcourt in the league with Fisher and Kobe. They both completely suck this year. Fisher pretty much always sucks, but now Kobe is on the same level of suckiness. He's sagging an not even attempting to close out on shooters, he's getting beat on back door plays, and he's generally slow as hell on rotations. He's practically useless out there on the defensive end, just like Derek Fisher. It'll be an insult to defensive players around the league when he makes the All-Defensive team this year.

No doubt Semi. Its always pissed me off how Kobe thought he could just relax on defense but this year its even worse. I don't know if its the knee or what but when your leader is just going to take it easy on defense then you better expect for it to rub off on the rest of the team.

ive seen way too many open 3pointers by opposing teams this year, and kobe for the love of god play some defense !

the LO technical if you go by the book is the correct call so to speak, but it just goes to show you how flawed that rule is, and imo im not sure if the sternbot ever did a real survey to conveniently get players to shut up w/ the yapping. the rule is good in the context of eliminating unncessary whining, but sometimes you have to give players leeway and like phil said, that was a 2 point turnaround when it was completely due to the incompetence of the refs. had that been lbj, it would have been called a foul before LO was even touched by hedo. funny thing is, the ref that gave LO the tech wasnt even the ref he cussed out at for the and1.

im not blaming the loss on the refs because despite the hot shooting, some of those looks they got from downtown were due to just plain bad defense.

The general board is a joke sometimes. The moment one of the championship contender teams lose a game everyone on the general board holds their heads high and acts like Mr. Tough Guy.

online forums nowadays are a joke, id say over half of the realgm population are nothing but high school kids who check stats without understanding what those exacts stats represent, and those that arent are either blind homers or haters.

Our bench was actually holding down the fort with Brown/Kobe/Matt/Luke/&Lamar (sometimes when sasha was in the game and kobe out). Luke played a pretty good 5 min IMO.

I really hope Bynum comes back healthy and strong soon so LO is saved for the bench, cuz its the run n gun teams (like PHX and GS) that we should have Blake/Brown/Barnes/LO handle.

Yeah, I can't wait until we get Bynum back. Gasol is playing entirely too many minutes and even in a limited role Bynum should make a huge difference for us defensively. I just hope that he accepts that as his primary role and just takes what he's given on offense, which isn't very much. He'll have his chances, but he can't be the kind of player that only plays hard on defense when he's getting touches on offense. We need him to be our anchor/enforcer in the paint, so that's got to be his primary focus.

With Bynum back I'm really hoping our guard play improves. I'm hoping that Kobe is sucking this bad because he thinks he has to over-help in the middle, so with Bynum back he'll have no reason play 10 feet off his man.

Let them troll .

They be quiet like they in a library by the end of June anyways.

Wasup my RealGm Laker fam.
Been out of town this past week. Las Vegas then Jazz county ............ :o
(Speaking of Jazz County, those fans are mad dedicated.
Alot of them still have faith they can win the title this year.
I give them alot of props for there dedication , ironically the week I was there they did comeback and defeat the Heat, Magic, Hawks, Bobcats, and Clippers. All comebacks from double digit deficits)

I didn't get to watch the Denver or Phoenix Game.
Kinda glad I didn't , seeing how we got manhandled and we didn't handle our bizz on the defensive end as the box score told me.

Nonetheless , it's still very early and were 8-2 and so what New Orleans and San Antonio are ahead of us in the standings .
They ain't gonna beat us in a 7 game series.
Portland, Dallas, and Denver got a better chance and I still don't see that happening pending our health situation.
Andrew is supposed to start practice this week! :D

8-2 and it's time to move on. Time to take care of business on this 3 game road trip.

If someone is trolling (excessively) then report them please. You can also choose to just ignore them which makes their hit-and-run posts meaningless.

Sometimes it's hard to see posters trolling in the middle of a conversation that is moving quickly, and that's especially true if we're too busy picking our noses and eating our boogers during the game.

^^^well considering this guy posted a poll on when we were going to lose its hard to assume he is a fan, in addition he seems to enjoy posting more baiting comments when we have lost the last 2.

Why are you guys acting like we haven;t anticipated this before the season started?

It was a given that we will not play upto par for the entire regular season. Even I can't be motivated to watch the entire games over the past week unless the rookies are getting some PT.

The playoffs is when things will fall into place. That's just the way it is..

I personally expected us to play better than this on the defensive end. I know we're getting up there in age and saving it for the playoffs, but so are other veteran teams (like the Celtics, for example). We're just not playing very smart defense right now or giving much effort.

The Celtics calling card is defense and hustle. They do have offensive options but nowhere close to the talent on our roster. Its just two teams with very different identities in my opinion.

WIth the new bench I expected the starters to come in blow games open early on and let the bench go to work. I didn't expect for us to be as bad as they have been so far on D.

I understand its early in the season...

all i want is home court throughout the entire playoffs, and we have a great chance to achieve that. it just gets to me that the Lakers camp talks about 'Defense wins Championships,' yet they haven't really shown it (except against Portland).

Yes we have a lot of talent on the offensive end, but we really gota up our defense. it kills me when Kobe sags so much off his defender.

This is a very true statement. If we could ever make that our calling card its curtains for everyone else.
