I'm curious, is the 100 page limit set because of the forum database or just a policy?

Over 100 pages can slow down the board.

Melo saying: I'm all about winning and competing at the championship level. Anyone in his right mind believe that any of these players really believe in D'Antoni at this point?
I think at this point, if this team develops a gritty identity under a respectable coach and wins a decent amount of games our chances are good to sign Melo. The longer we keep Dumbphony the more our chances decrease. I seriously doubt that any guy serious about winning a title would join a D'Antoni coached team.

Melo wants to play for D'Antoni, or at least he did.

Re: [Camelo Thread] - Part 4
BTW, Melo's comments should be a HUGE wake up call to all the fans who are asleep and generally answer every coaching critic with "D'Antoni should get the whole year to prove himself".
It's getting more and more obvious why winning is important NOW , not later. Not only is the McGrady trade gonna look horrific in June and we'll lose even more credibility around the league but it could VERY VERY well lead to Melo joining another team. Anyone thinking "we got Melo" needs to wake the hell up and realize that we only have a shot at Melo if we make the playoffs and win at least 40 games. I don't wanna sound dramatic but with the last 10 years and Melo's free agency coming up I'm saying that the future of the franchise hinges on the Knicks having a successful season.
Walsh is a patient guy and I give him the benefit of doubt if he wants another extra 10 games to judge D'antoni but as with everything I believe the fans shouldn't be patient forever---in the end we need accountability and if after 20 games we aren't seeing much improved defense and consistancy Walsh needs to man the **** up and fire D'Antoni. Too much at stake here.
I'm telling you right now, mark my words and bring this post back in 9 months:
If the Knicks fail to win 40 games this season Carmelo Anthony is NOT gonna join us period. Mark my words. He couldn't be any clearer than in his recent interview , even stating "I'm just like Lebron. It's all about winning."---Keep in mind that there are quite a few competitive teams that'd be willing to work out a sign and trade with Melo and that Denver at that point in summer is gonna take whatever they can get so don't be surprised if Melo suddenly ends up in Chicago,Orlando,Portland,New Orleans,Dallas or wherever else winning is the first priority.
If Walsh sits around and lets this team half ass his way to 30 wins and hold the fanbase hostage with "I believe in D'Antoni bull" than he'll have failed at the same level as Isiah and Layden---namely blowing 3 seasons with nothing to show for .

Sorry, but I doubt he'd join your Bulls unless it was really the last option.

The thing is, firing the coach a couple weeks into the first season when the team wasn't just dumping salary isn't necessarily going make us "win now" - it might well hurt the organization's credibility with the players. Who knows what the result would be? I think very few people are arguing that D'Antoni should get "the whole season" even if things don't improve - but he certainly needs more than 10 games. If we play another 10 games and we don't do better than 3-7 in those games, then I think his job starts being in danger.

And I personally am fine with that. I'd give him another 10-15 games max. If we can't win say 8 of our next 15 games then Walsh needs to act quickly.

Melo wants to come to NY. He is going to say what he will, but he will be here next year unless Denver pulls a huge upset and makes it to the finals.

Don't make the same mistake we all did with Lebron. Melo wants to win period. If the Bulls win 50 games and are able to offer a package that Denver accepts via sign and trade while the Knicks win 30 games do not be surprised to see Melo announce "I'm taking my talents to the windy city".
Come on Seren, if you are a Knick fan for over 10 years you cannot seriously believe that player X definitely wants to join the Knicks. How often did that actually happen. The key is winning games, being respectable and growing a winning culture. No one is gonna join this team only because we play in MSG or have New York wriiten on our jerseys.

I don't think it's that simple. I think he wants to win, AND I think he wants to play in New York.

Why not? His whole family lives in NY. He chose Syracuse because it was a NY team. He grew as a NY fan. LBJ is a Cowboys fan, a Bulls fan, a Yankees fan. LBJ has no loyalty to any city. Melo is no LBJ.
And it is not like he will start from scratch here. Amare is, no matter what the winning column at the end of they year is, still the best big in the east outside Dwight.

I think Carmelo is talking about winning in the long run which would make NY the best option
